Ames Farm Inn - Featured Reviews (178)
This is our third summer staying at Ames Farm. We were so lucky when another innkeeper recommended this place. We stay in a cottage with a million dollar view. Everyone here is so accommodating and helpful. The breakfasts are amazing. We look forward to coming here every year, and love how there’s no tv and you can just spend time with family, swimming , reading, relaxing and looking at the view. The restaurant is great and the food is delicious. We always make a reservation since it can get crowded. But even if you don’t have a reservation, they try to fit everyone in. The staff at the restaurant are all friendly and take the time to get to know you. We live this place and can’t wait to come back next summer.
I stayed at this property for 4 nights with a work retreat. I stayed across the street in an apartment which had a kitchenette, living room, table, couch and TV, as well as a separate bedroom. It was nice and the A/C worked great. We ate at the property every day. The beach was very nice but I wish they had some lounge chairs. They had numerous games available for use. There is no Wifi and I know some people had very poor cell service. Also bring your own toiletries as they only provide a goats milk soap for body/hair. The staff is super friendly and it has been family owned. All in all I recommend this property.
We stopped here for breakfast and a short walk along the bayfront. They have roughly ten cabins, a nice waterfront pavilion for socializing/swimming and plenty of parking.||The food was home cooked, moderately priced and extremely good. Staff was courteous and friendly. Felt like being in someone's home.||Highly recommended.
This place is a historic gem with great food on Lake Winnipesaukee. For the full experience, arrive by boat and make a reservation—they have convenient numbered docks on the shoreline.
We visited for breakfast and were impressed. They use real NH maple syrup, and the steak and eggs are a must-try.
A pleasant surprise was the "trucker" drinks. They offer two flavors, but my favorite was the strawberry dragon fruit, complete with a fresh strawberry on the rim.
The decor is steeped in history, with lake photos everywhere and even a piece of timber from the 1938 hurricane 🌀 that hit NH and New England.
Their gift shop has a nice selection of mugs and other souvenirs. This is a great place for a special occasion—my family took me here for Father's Day.
I can't comment on the rooms, as we only dined at the restaurant.
Super cute Inn right on Lake Winnipesaukee! We stayed in one of their apartments, which gave us a cute front porch with rocking chairs and faced the lake. They have wonderful staff who are accommodating and friendly! Paddleboard and kayak rentals were convenient, lawn games, and they had a cute clean beach. The restaurant was busy (rightfully so, since they were delicious!), so I suggest reservations.
Great meal blueberry Pancakes the only suggestion I would give is add an item choice with pancakes and eggs and meat it’s kind of unusual to have to add 2.00 per egg and 4.00 bacon as sides when most breakfast restaurants have a pancake and egg and meat choice on the menu for one price .
We are from out of town and we stayed in one of the cabins right on the water. The staff are very friendly in the office and the store and Peggy is always so pleasant and welcoming!!!
I have been going to The Ames farm Inn for many years now. Every year I look forward to the amazing view, great people, awesome breakfast, and staying away from technology for the week. We enjoy staying here so much that we now come twice a year. It is so easy to unwind and relax here with the beauty of the lake. The cottages are wonderful to wake up to a beautiful sunrise and it is great to be able to have a dock for your boat. I appreciate that there is no cable TV in the cottages, as it allows you to enjoy the property with the amazing views and you are able to have some great quality time with family and friends. The apartments across the street are convenient on a hot summer night as they have AC and if you have children that can't live without TV, the apartments have cable. There is plenty do with the large lakefront and all of the lawn games. The store is convenient also as they have some candy, local icecream, beverages and shirts / sweats for sale. The sweats have come in handy on chilly NH nights. Thank you Ames Farm Inn for providing amazing memories and many more to come!
Decided to come here for lunch. Docked the boat right in front of the restaurant. The place has a great atmosphere and offers a variety of sandwiches. Canât beat a view on the water. Service was great!
I ordered the pork belly sandwich and it was
Gun stock has always been one of my favorite mountains. Very user friendly with many different types of terrait's easy to get to from just about anywhere. Ticket prices are through the roof everywhere, but gunstalk seems to be. A bit lower than a de
Such a pretty beach! We went on a weekday and the beach was well groomed and not busy at all. There's a nice, good size playground for the kids. Bathrooms are well maintained and outhouses available if after hours. I need to frequent this state park
Holy cow this park is beautiful! One of the highlights of the area. The view is just breathtaking. Pictures only give a taste but certainly don't do it justice.
Friendly service, the food tasted great. The salad was fresh. Good portions. The restaurant itself was super clean and welcoming. I will most definitely be back.
