AmeriCoast Inn - Motel in Brookings - 1215 Chetco Ave, USA

This is what I would’ve expect of a motel in a beachfront town. There’s nothing fancy about it, but the price is very reasonable. The beds are comfortable and the room was clean. They give us great recommendations for dinner for a restaurant in town. It has a view of the water and an in room coffee maker. There’s really nothing to complain about.

This is an older motel. No fancy frills but is extremely clean. There are a few upgrades that have been made. Very strict check in and check out policies. Is for the price point it is a good option.

We had made reservations ahead of time. It was pet friendly and nothing was said that policy was no cats. We have a cat. When we got there the lady at desk told us they don't allow cats. We told her we would leave the cat in the camper. She said they could not be on the premises. She was very rude about it. We left.

Beware! Even with a reservation, you could end up without a room. My girlfriend and I had a 2 queen room booked. While at the beach they called to say we were in the wrong room. They moved our items WITHOUT permission to a one bed room. The manager hid in a room & didn't want to discuss the issue. She finally came out, was rude and said the booking error was our fault for using Expedia. She then told us to leave. She put 2 females out on the 4th of July weekend with no place to sleep. Manager also said why would she allow us to stay at the rate we had when she could fill our room at full price. Horrible! The response is a complete LIE. They did nothing for us. It took US on the phone for over 2 hours with Expedia to try to find a room. You did move our stuff and we should have called the police. You did not overbook. You gave us a room and sold it to another party while we were at the beach. The only reason you got a 1 for service is because your front desk lady was so sweet.

Standard roadside inn but I didn't feel gross staying there like most can be.. Clean, convenient, i'd stay again if I needed a quick night stay. They were also very helpful in emailing my receipt two weeks after my stay which they didn't have to do. The staff was super friendly. Thanks!

Awful service and hostile manager. My mother and I are traveling and all hotels in Brookings were booked so we made an online reservation here for the night after and stayed awake in our car for over 24 hours. At around 2:40 pm, my mother and I spoke with the manager as she was on her way out of the office in hopes of checking into our room, she told us that she didn’t know if any housekeepers were there or if any of the rooms had been cleaned yet. After my mother asked if she could get us into a room as soon as one was cleaned and stated that she struggles with medical issues and needs to rest, the manager rudely responded by telling us we don’t know what it takes to run and manage a motel of this size. My mother and I did not feel comfortable with the managers hostility, so we asked for a refund. The manager than told us that we had not paid for a room which was clearly not the case as we booked and paid for a room for $154 online the night before. She kept refusing to refund us, telling us we had not paid, so we left. We then contacted Expedia and received our refund after they contacted Americoast Inn. Manager is very snide and ignorant. I do not recommend staying here.

We used a third party booking to reserve our hotel room. We booked a double queen room; we checked in no problem put all our items in our hotel room. We went to the beach and received a call from the hotel stating they put us in the wrong room and asked if they could move our stuff. I stated i wish you would not, but i would be willing to move if we could get a discount since we were going to a smaller room. She said she would look into it and call me back. I never received a phone call and when i came back all my items were moved into another room without my permission. I was only given a 10% discount for the change and one queen bed for two grown lads we were just unactable at 12 dollars off my rate. I asked for a better discount and was told that was the best they could do; I asked for the manager and was told she would not come to the office so or take my calls. When she appeared from behind the closed door, I was shocked, she was onsite as her employee made it as if she was not in the area. The manager proceeded to tell me she should not do better than 12 dollars off because she could turn around and rent it full rate to someone else. I was livid, because i already had a room and my things were moved, and no by us. I never agreed to the move or the rate, this should have been fully agreed upon before a move was ever made. this should and may actually be illegal. She moved my purse, wine, clothing everything. She blamed me for using a third-party booking tool and made it very clear she was not taking any responsibility for what happened. She is a lier and just a bad person. She put two ladies on the road at 8pm with no hotel and over 7-hour drive to get home. She did call Expedia for us to relocate but then made it sound like she did us a favor by doing this step. Trust me this was no favor her 5 mins on the phone with them to say re book them did absolutely nothing. I had to call and sit on the phone for over 2 hours trying to re book. Whatever she comes back with on my review i promise you, its lies.

Basic rooms for cheap. The bed was quite comfortable, the room overall is a 2, location 3.5 as seen by my Sunset photo. The service was swift and pleasant. Overall, I'd rate this place a 3.2.
