Americas Best Value Inn Norman at Univ of Oklahoma - Hotel in Norman - 100 26th Dr, USA

There was a missing and dead lightbulb in the restroom. There was crust and burn holes on the rim of the bathtub. There was a hole in the blanket on the bed. There's a grimey texture on the handles of the drawers. One of the lamps weren't working, there is a hair left over in the wall dryer, the AC unit has obvious crust and dust in it which is ironic considering this place emphasizes "Please be good to your lungs", and the ironing board is dusty and stained. There was an odor from the bathroom because there was no showerliner for the shower,so the water gave the curtain a musty scent when it got wet. There were no blinds for the window, just a dark curtain. So i couldn't let any sunlight in without the fear of being watched. There were pubes left on the toilet from the last tenant. I got locked out of my room twice because my card kept deactivating midway through my stay. They have food way past the expiration date in the refrigerator in the lounge room of the office. The muffins they had expired on 8/07/24. Days passed, and they were never replaced. And the cereal containers looked sticky. I'm assuming this hotel doesn't care much about first impressions at all. Wasn't expecting luxury, but the bare minimum of making sure the place is wiped down, clean, and amenities were ready weren't even accomplished. Im disappointed. Im surprised the place didn't have roaches. Was hoping my money would be well spent here.

Positive: I would say the best thing about staying here was when I did get housekeeping she was was Really sweet. I liked her Negative: Didn't have a light bulb for my vanity I had to keep taking the ball out to put it in the vanity from the main area of the hotel room off and on for days had no microwave or coffee maker like other rooms made it a terrible experience Negative: ""

The employee forged our signature on a receipt and was overcharging the room service just to put a few extra bucks in his wallet. He was let go the next day and we were reimbursed the money that he overcharged us for. We saved the owner probably 1,000's of stolen dollars and we couldn't even get a one night stay for free, will not be going back that's for sure.

We grabbed as last option for OU family weekend as we wanted to be right in Norman. We read the reviews and didn’t expect much, the building is old and run down, with dirty and worn walkways and stairs. The room was very outdated with old and miss match furniture, dull and inconsistent lighting and few outlets. The curtains were blackout with no sheets, so no option to let in light without exposing to whole world. The bathroom and room had corners that look like they had never been cleaned. The only pros: the bed and pillows were ok although the sheets were thin with holes and blanket had burn holes. The shower water pressure was good and water stayed hot. However, when housekeeping knocked to ask if we needed anything on first morning, we asked for towels and soap. The man asked us to give him the used towels and he would bring new ones. He never brought back towels or soap and my husband had to go searching for towels the next day. Overall, this room was so convenient to everything we were doing but it was so sad we couldn’t wait to leave and definitely won’t be back.

Only a 1 star & that’s because, it’s the lowest I can offer. The staff you don’t know who you’ll get. Might be polite or it might be rude. Normally when I travel with my family. We get a room with enough of what we need & we’re satisfied. Which was beds, tv, working utilities. Soon as we checked in. I noticed there was black mold near the a/c unit. So I requested a different room. The next morning, I went to get some breakfast & my son was with. One of the staff flipped out. Because I was taking more than I needed. I informed him, this is because of the fact that the rest of my family is in the room. After that comment, I told asked him who was running the show & let him know we will be leaving & I will expect a refund for the remaining 4 nights. As this behavior to my family was highly intolerant. Though it took some time, I did receive my refund. It’s just for night & you traveling through, I would still be hesitant on recommending this place here.

I paid for a week and I was getting bit by something which I found out that the bed is full of bed bugs which I didn't know it until my last night there I was going to pay for another week but because of the bed bugs I chose not to

Me and my boyfriend had to stay here for two nights. I’m writing this after we have gone home. The only pleasant things here was the politeness of the front desk workers and the maintenance people. We got there and our toilet was working then when I woke up the next morning it would no longer flush correctly, we called for maintenance and they got it fixed very quickly. Now for the bad, there was mold on the shower curtain, the bed did not have a fitted sheet only two unfitted ones, the blanket felt like curtain material, the “mattress protector” didn’t even stay on the bed throughout the night, and finally the shower was leaky and had horrible pressure (plus the plumbing issue stated above). It was an okay bed, not overly uncomfortable, for the two nights we were stuck in Oklahoma, but I was not impressed with all the bad things listed above.

I've stayed here two times and it's always a nice, clean, and pleasant getaway for whatever purpose I have for staying over a couple nights. Plenty of shopping nearby for clothing,food, home needs, automotive, even hardware. Clean rooms with all the amenities. No laundry room but I knew that before I rented my room. Heat and air work great. Price is fair and beats overpaying somewhere else. Thank you guys!
