Bed bugs!!! I thought it looked decent, and the bed looked clean until I woke up at 3AM itching and realized that I was covered in bites because they have BED BUGS!!! I immediately got up, gathered my stuff, and left. When I alerted the front desk clerk that the room had bed bugs, she didn't even bother to apologize, offer a refund, or anything else. She just shook her head as if this had happened many times before. Oh, and I reserved a non smoking room, confirmed at check in that I wanted a non smoking room, and found the smoking sign inside the room. Updating to say that the hotel is refusing to give a refund for the stay even though I had to leave in the middle of the night because they had bed bugs and I am now covered in extremely painful bites.

Never had an option to choose smoke room or non-smoking room while made the booking online.Me and my family was arraged with smoking room and it was terrible there’s holes on the blankets and the latches are broken and the service of the front desk is bad too. We didn’t feel safe in the room.There’s people smoking by the side and smells funky. The breakfast only got frozen biscuits and bread. I’ve had better breakfast before. I guess they give a lot of one week specials that’s how they keep themselves occupied. Not your regular family hotel.

I am editing this review after staying here a second time because my room was infested with bed bugs. At least I found out I'm allergic to bed bugs for the first time after waking up with huge swollen bites all over my body. I would probably have come back to stay at least once a month for work as everything seemed nice the first time, but needless to say I'm never risking staying here again.

I am giving this place now 10 star. Me and my wife stayed here in June. I had worst experience ever. But one of my friend told me now owner has been changed so we gave it try again. And really they were great. Everything was perfect. They did everything you asked for. The rooms are very much clean. Love the new people.

Probably the dirtiest room I have ever decided to stay in. Hair and general filth on the bathroom floor. Hair in the tub, water spotted mirror, obviously not wiped. We wore our sandals at all times. The bedding looked remarkably clean and we pulled back the sheets to check for bedbugs. At least they allowed dogs but with people checking in at midnight and slamming doors up and down the hall, she barked. Also, the people above us were exercising or something (!), squeaking the floors for a long time at midnight. Oh, and the "hot continental breakfast" consisted of biscuits and gravy and coffee ONLY. Nothing else. But it was cheap!!!

Positive: "" Negative: The man at the front desk was very rude and violent. He refused to let us in our room after we paid with no explanation other than I would have to go back to where I booked it to get a refund. He should not be working there. Would NOT RECOMMEND!!

Stayed here with my 2 cats from April 25th to May 9th and very pleased with new owners, staff and accommodations. This is only a 2 star but I was treated like a 5 star guest. The room was clean, all bed and bath linen was snow white, the fridge was cold, microwave was new, a/c, heat worked well and the king bed was new, firm and my back was happy with it. The continental breakfast was toast, cold cereal, biscuits and gravy, and hot Folger's coffee. They provided a good variety of drinks, snacks and sandwiches sold at the desk. It's close to the Capitol Bldg and cheap transportation is available to anywhere in town and vicinity. It's 3 stories high, allows smoking on the 3rd floor, hallways/lobby/office/dining room were very clean. I was concerned about several negative reviews but was assured by the owners at check-in that when they bought this place in December they kicked out several locals who then trashed talked them online and guaranteed my cats and I would be safe and enjoy our stay, and we did. Plus, the rates are great compared to the bigger chains and my wallet liked this place, too. Business will bring me to town multiple times between now and election day, I will definitely stay here and recommend you do, too. I want to add that there's a modern, dependable elevator, too. As a note to out of town guests, I travel alot and I know that renting to locals can be a problem. However, the new owners are particular and won't tolerate any negative behavior. In 2 weeks I met nearly every one of the few locals here and they were nice and respectful and I saw no signs of any nefarious behavior. I am writing this lengthy review because I believe in the new owner's mission to make this a safe, comfortable place for travelers to stay, they have earned my business, and I will stay here every time I'm in this city.

Bathroom need cleaning. Beds were comfortable. We walked upon 2 workers complaining about their jobs. It was a little unnerving having people sitting at a picnic table right outside the entrance smoking.
