We had no idea that this place even existed in Colorado Springs, or to expect someone as great as this! There's two floors of awesome informative displays from the beginning of coins and money to current versions. They also have a kids area, and once a month have a kids focused teaching session which is very informative yet fun and your kids will end up with lots of coins from around the world.
Everyone at the Money Museum are friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable! We had the opportunity to join one of their Kid Zone Classes. Mr. Sam was very patient with my daughter and she learned how to make paper. We learned a lot about coins and currency from around the world! Thank you all for all you do to provide such a great learning experience!
Very interesting museum, however their most prized exhibit is currently under renovation.
Whether you are a coin enthusiast, collector numismatist, or simply enjoy museums, this is definitely a place to visit while in Colorado Springs. I enjoyed visiting the ANA Museum and will do so again when I have the time. Also, they have a library with an abundance of reading sources, old and new. They even have something for younger folks within exhibits, so bring your kids.
I had been wanting to see this place for years. I have been a lifelong collector with a modest collection of my own. I enjoyed our visit while passing through on vacation. The highlight was the rare coins that I got to view up close. A 1792 disme, a 1913 nickle and an 1804 dollar. Daggone!! I was like a kid in a toy store much to my wife's patience with me.. That made the entire side trip worth it. Glad I stopped.
Even if you're not a coin enthusiast or collector, this is a museum with a great amount of world history and American history that anyone would enjoy. The displays related to early American coinage were particularly interesting, as well as the information about early paper currency. Several highly valuable rare coins are on display and include a history of their ownership. Plan to spend about an hour going through the exhibits.
Wonderful museum! My dad is a coin collector and he absolutely loved this place. There were so many cool and unique exhibits that you can't see anywhere else, especially for such a low admission fee! It was $27 for four of us! It is also very wheelchair friendly, which we appreciated since my Mom is handicapped.
The only con I can think of is that this is not really a good choice for young kids, even with the kids zone area.
If u love $$$$ it's best to come here. Very interesting place. My husband been wanting to come here. He fell in love with coins, I fell in love with history lmao
