American Motel - Motel in Santa Monica - 1243 Lincoln Blvd, USA

We were having trouble finding a vacancy and a reasonable rate. Happened to drive by this place. Good neighborhood and rate. But the first warning sign was when the woman at the front took my debit card and instead of letting me swipe it asked me for my pin. Then walking towards the room up the stairs we noticed homeless people under the building in the carport area. Also trailers with eyes peering out. It appeared these folks were allowed to stay on property which would not be so bad to help folks but they appeared to he druggies and strung out. We went up to the room, opened the door and looked around briefly I opened the bed covers. There was a cigarette burn having burned through the blanket and sheet perfectly aligned which made me think the sheets hadn’t been changed since that burn. The towels were unmatched and threadbare, There heater was missing the vent cover. The bathroom mirror was broken Tile flooring was missing in the bathroom. The carpet was filthy I thought I’d saw things jumping in the fibers. . One look at this room and I started itching. We can do budget basic but couldn’t stay there. It was repulsive. It gave us the creeps. We immediately went downstairs to request a refund. We couldn’t get the key out of the door! We were told no refunds but after pushing it we were charged an extra $20 bucks to get a refund. After calling several times no help. We disputed with our bank and did finally get reimbursed. You’d be better off sleeping in your car. I can’t believe the city of Santa Monica hasn’t condemned this place for health purposes. We didn’t even think to take pictures. It was so gross we had to get out fast. The only nice thing to say is the owner is willing to help out those in need by allowing them some shelter on property. I don’t like giving bad reviews, but want to ensure others know what to expect

We took a room there at the last minute because we realized there was nowhere in Santa Monica we could park our RV and spend the night in. What a mistake. The room stank of cigaret, everything was old, dirty and worn off. Didn't even get to see the bathroom but I prefer not to imagine. There was no way we would spend a night in such a filthiest place, probably the most disgusting hotel I have ever seen. We ended up sleeping in our RV, on the parking of the motel. Avoid at any cost!

Caution, stay at your own risk!! Huge bed bug problem. Many things not true there. Not a pleasant or safe environment. Maurice the owner is actually quite abusive and not responsible at all. Dose not care about cleansiness and seems to just warehouse elderly and helpless people.

My husband and I decided to take a trip down to Santa Monica and our friends told us that this area was probably the best and the most economical, and it was! The area was really wonderful! The room wasn't 5 star quality, but for how much we paid for it, it wasn't bad. All I'm saying is, if you want a wallet friendly deal and you want to be really close to the ocean, this would probably be your best bet for a motel. We couldn't find anything closer to the promenade, the beach, or their main mall for that little of cost. The guy who worked there was nice too.

What I don't like about the place everything? The customer service there is horrible. The manager is doesn't have any skills in public relations. She is rude and obnoxious. The place is like sleeping in a trash can literally. The rooms are always dirty. The plumbing doesn't work half the time. The heater in the room isn't on and when u ask to turn it on there a wait for it. The tv goes in and out like he hasn't paid the cable bill. The room looks like it was painted back in the 1960. This is the worst place I ever stayed at. The city of Santa Monica needs to step in and close this nasty hell hole.Please do yourself a favor and sleep in the streets before you rent a room here.

My husband and I nearly stayed here on 6th June. To al those who remember the war that is "D" day. "D" in this instance stands for DIRTY, DISGUSTING, DEPLORABLE..... I can't begin to describe the bathroom but I don't believe we were the only creatures living in it! The carpet was filthy, your shoes stuck to it when walking over it. The sheets were stained and the bedspread was all cigarette burns. We handed them the keys back - they did offer us another room but we refused. So no refund there. It's not in the best part of town, please please please, no matter how tired you are - keep driving! don't stay here. This is a disgrace to the town of Santa Monica - why is this motel still allowed to trade - do they not have hotel inspectors here??

Not the greatest,go to Rose Ave the first motel is a zero,why,it's the worst and highly suspicious as being evasive on taxes,female manager makes frogs appear sexy,bedbugs, roaches, and nothing but denial. Filthiest humans on this planet. Don't believe me,then go to that hell hole,you will change your opinion about the American motel.

Warning don't come near this Place. I have never come close to live at such a filthy place. It's a hobo motel. The doors and walls are covered and smudged with I-don't-even-know-what. Stains and dark patches. Dust and spiderwebs on shelves and by the roof. smells of someone who have smoked for years. The ventilation shaft vibrates and creates noice as soon as someone moves around (doesn't matter which floor they're at) We didn't even got clean sheets. It has pubes and dried semen on it. The worst part is the price. 85!!! Dollars/night. I wouldnt stay there If It was 10$/ night We only decided to stay here because after 3,5 hours of trying to get around venice and Santa Monica all other places where occupied. Don't they inspect hotels and motels in USA? My advice to the government is to tare this whole place down!
