American Inn Sedalia Hotel - Hotel in Sedalia - 1217 S Limit Ave, USA

My wife and I attended the Missouri State Fair on August 12,2024. That evening we stayed at the American Inn in Sedalia. Our reservations were secured by Expedia and the total amount of the stay included all taxes. Upon presenting our credit card for payment we noticed that the proprietor up charged us an additional $10. Upon questioning her, she mumbled something indiscernible and totally dismissed us. The couple we were with had another room reservation booked through Hotel.com and they were up charged the same amount, and again their complaints were ignored. The rooms haven't been upgraded for several decades but outside of the cobwebs and filthy carpeting, everything else seemed to be clean.

I buy my tickets on Priceline to Motel Hell. I show up and the lady says I have not paid after I show her a 0 dollar due receipt and blamed that priceline had not paid. I must pay again. The lady charges me an additional 25 for check out at 1 instead of 11. She sends me to this room 101. Don't every go in there. I got bit by bedbugs like 20 times in there and it smells like a cat used it for a Kiss box. Don't step on the carpet or you may get stuck in place. I call priceline to get them to fix this. They could not reach the property owner so I was stuck . Cat piss!!! All over the room and my eyes were doing all but water. I called the person at the front desk and told them to move my room immediately .she came to the room and sprayed 2 sprays of cat piss cover-up I am stranded in this 😫 disgusting motel!! I then went to bed and woke up to bed bugs biyed on my body. I think the lady purposely sent me to this room because she know that bugs were in this room and thats why she refused to move me Pettis County Close this pit down!!! It is a filthy disgusting bed bug infested disgrace imo. Priceline strike 5 and your out and this disgusting hotel owner sending people to rooms with bed bugs should be ashamed of themselves .

Friendly accommodating staff, My first experience was great my stay last night however was not. Air conditioner unit was loud in room 128 I requested a refund after the first few hours when it didn't stop being loud to go to another hotel and was told I'd only get my deposit back. upon check out my deposit was not returned and now I have to wait 2-5 days for it. I won't be staying there again and I travel for work ALOT

Not recommend! The worst place in Sedalia. Dirty towels and stained bedding. Bad smell in the rooms. The owners are very rude. My disabled client stayed there twice because of the problems with his air conditioner at home. They asked for a refundable deposit both times, and didn't refund when he was checking out, stated he smoked inside the room, when he didn't.

Don't stay here. They up charged us 45.00 and claimed it to be a deposit. They refused to return the up charge to our credit card. The rooms are nasty. The owners are rude. There is not any customer service at all. We have disputed the overcharge with Chase Visa. We made reservations through Hotels.com and have in writing what amount is due at the motel. So just don't stay here.

Positive: Location and it was quiet. Negative: Gnats in the bathroom sink. Microwave didn't work. Twice our room keys didn't work. And the bed was awful.

This place is horrible. The room had an odd odor, bed was worn out, shower did not work at all, air conditioner came on once to cool room then never again. Avoid if you can.

Made reservations 2 months in advance drove 120 mi got there no room available lady at the desk was horrible mean hateful. Never stay there.
