My family of 5 just stayed here for the first time from 9/25/23-9/30/23 and we had a great experience! I stayed at the same place since the 80s and this year, that place implemented some policies regarding additional deposits on top of the cost of the room that were ludicrous so we decided to stay elsewhere, that being The American Inn. The room was super clean, the staff was really nice and helpful, and the maid service was great! The pool is heated so even though the weather didn't cooperate, it was nice that we were still able to swim in the motel pool! The location is fantastic and we absolutely loved the sun deck!! You've gained new annual customers as we will definitely be staying here again!!!
Everything you need for a great summer getaway. nice staff, friendly homey feel. private entrance to each room easy access to the beach. close to boardwalk, fresh fruit and vegetable vendor comes to end of street. will come back next year.
Nice location however it is starting to fall into disrepair. Hopefully new owners will put some money into it. Should also make it a non smoking environment. Had to wade through crowds of smokers upon entering and exiting daily. SMELLY AND GROSS🤢🤮
If you’ve been going here the same week for the past 50 years you will like it because it is exactly the same as the first time you stayed. It may even have the same towels on the rack. It’s charming in a way, but once was enough. The regulars love it but if you’re not one of them, you’ll probably wonder what the attraction is. One extra star because the pool was perfect temp and water was amazing!
We have stayed at the American Inn for over 10 years and always on the 3rd floor. For many years the person taking care of our room was great, however for the last 2 years we were a little disappointed in the service we got. This year we had the pleasure of meeting Julee, the person who would be taking care of our room. The moment we entered our room we knew things were going to be different this year and in a positive way. All week long attention to detail and room cleanliness were impressive. Great job Julee. Hope to see you in Sept.
A family place, clean, close to the beach & boardwalk, friendly staff too. My husband & I took our Grandchildren 5 & 2yrs, we all had a great time. The day we returned home we recieved an email letting us know my husband left his license & they mailed it back quickly. Thanks again, will definitely return
Everyone is super polite! The pool was clean, the rooms were clean.Many rumors about this place that won't be open, but please don't believe. I booked already for 8 /2023 .
Have come here for my family vacation for years and always thought of this place as our home away from home. They got new owners and they did not take our reservation gor 2023 like they would always do and then we were told they gave our rooms away and they now do not have anything for us. They do no care about respectful and loyal customers. Such a shame and really disappointed with new owners and how they are running it.

We always have a good time up here. Oftentimes there's live music and there's a great Philly crowd. We love the outside. The beers are expensive, but less expensive than pretty much everywhere else on the boardwalk.
