American Inn - Hotel in McKinney - 205 W University Dr, USA

The people who work here are very racist. Been here once rooms are ehh. If you can go anywhere else go. They will discriminate on you and your wife/gf. If you Hispanic or black they can be very rude. In the past called here when I came to visit family and they said they had available rooms, when I arrived they said no all rooms where taken all of sudden. This place is trash and recommend any other place then this trash hotel and racist staff.

They are most definitely racist. I called over the phone and was given a price and told that there was a room available. When I arrived, the man was trying to charge 100 dollars extra. I then asked about the condition of the rooms because of the reviews and was then told he doesn’t have a room for me. Wasted time and money even running across this place. Read the other reviews! This place is a dump!

King room was clean and comfortable. The bed was offset to the double-lights on the wall, which were positioned for a two-queen room, not a king, so the lighting was odd. But the room was clean, bedding was fresh. The window AC/heater was unusually quiet for a hotel room unit. On the downside: Only one bath towel and it was pretty flimsy, and the fan in the commode/shower room was very noisy like it was about to go out. Fridge was a good size for a hotel room but microwave was tiny. There was no safety latch on the door - just a deadbolt. I consider that a big safety drawback. The tiny office was closed when we checked in late, so I had to stand outside in chill air while being checked in at a service window facing the driveway. Check-in took a long time, and the clerk was not very proficient in English pronunciation and was hard to understand, so I am downgrading the service to poor. Overall, average rating, especially considering the price. I've stayed in worse budget hotels. The management seems to care about the hotel.

I had my crew stay here for a month while we tried to find a permanent place to rent. It isn't the nicest hotel because it could use some upgrading but it was definitely the cheapest In the area. And I really did my homework. They cleaned our rooms daily and always asked if we needed extra towels or anything else. It is very close to many fast food restaurants and minutes from historic McKinney. I had two rooms and we never had any issues and the owners and the staff are very friendly. They have weekly rates!

We had been driving too long before finding this place. We had looked, unsuccessfully for a "ma & pa" place and were exhausted. The price was right and we checked in. The room had a king sized bed which was comfortable. The towels were very small, scratchy and needed a better bleaching. There was actually a very small kitchenette with a small gas stove, microwave, sink and full refrigerator with the handle broken off. We turned the air conditioner on high and had to leave it there all night. We still had to sleep with no sheet to keep from being drenched in sweat. We could hear folks walking above us, flushing the toilet and running the shower. We needed a mask to keep the outside light from disturbing our sleep.

This is your standard budget motel. Reletivly clean, no coffee in room. Fridge had old beer in freezer, owners came immediately to clear them out. They were so nice, apologetic.||||AC was very loud, and took forever to cool room ||||This is not a place for family, no pool, filled with workmen trucks. You got the feel they stayed there long term. Not much near by to eat for breakfast.

Ps: this is an honest review. I get you might not want to believe it but it is what it is. I can take screen shots of time that I arrived and time the pictures were taken. Nothing will be done about the situation since we are leaving in a few hours and the heating solución was solved by us Again because we went out to buy a small heater. You have an amazing day, however, stay blessed and I hope you decide to deep clean the room, and fix heater for future custumers.

Rooms are ok, hard floors no carpets, a/c nice and cool almost to cool at nights. Only problem Is the place is always full and I can't get more than 1 night at a time and waiting half the day to come.back.
