American Inn & Suites Romulus DTW - Hotel in Romulus - 9863 Middlebelt Rd, USA

At the $75/night price we paid I was pleased. Their shuttle picked us from DTW airport and delivered us back to the airport the next morning. The two beds were clean and comfortable. The lady on duty was funny and friendly. Overall a pleasant experience.

I checked in Friday and asked if there was a washer and dryer on site and she said there was. I was over charged more then once from the original price it had online. I looked at my card and there was 42 dollars in extra charges that I did not authorize on my card. I went to use the washer and dryer they said they have and only thing that was working was the washer. The only thing I liked about it was the cleaning lady that works days she was so nice and understanding. On the last day of my stay I was coming down the stairs to take the trash outside to the dumpster and when I got to the last step I slipped on the puddle of water that was all over the floor at the end. I got up and walked down to the front dest and wanted to notify them of what happened and the maintenance guy on site put his head down and apologized and walked away. I told the lady at the front desk what happened and she just called the maintenance guys name and turned around and walked away. No one even cared that it happened but the nice cleaning lady. The maintenance guy just mopped up the water and put towels down as he said that people get ice and just spill it all over the floor that’s why it was there. If you want a expensive stay and to be treated like crap this is the place to be. And if you want them taking more money off your card that you never agreed to. Then this is the place I was told 162 dollars and when I checked my card it was 168 plus 50 dollars plus 12 dollars plus another 30 dollars in miscellaneous charges. Like what the hell I only slept there.

Thought to myself, how bad could it be? Well, it was bad. The staff was rude and unprofessional to say the least, and the hotel is literally falling apart. I had an early morning flight and needed to get a good night sleep. Around 10pm I woke up to the sound of water, and there was water literally gushing out of the ceiling into the toilet. I tried calling the front desk multiple times and no one answered. Finally, I went downstairs, and no one was there. After looking around, I noticed a woman outside staring at me. I made eye contact with her and she came inside. I told her what was going on, and she threw a couple of towels at me and got in the elevator with me. She dropped me off at my floor and then went upstairs to check on the person above me. I waited for about 10 mins and heard nothing, so I went back downstairs and she was back outside. She seemed very annoyed that I was back, and then told me that the lady upstairs was taking a shower and forgot to do something with the plug or shower curtain.. either way, shouldn’t have produced a waterfall from the ceiling. I asked for a new room and she seemed very annoyed with my request, but again, waterfall.. ceiling… She got me a new room finally, and I went up. The room was nicer and there was no waterfall from the ceiling, but then I went to use the toilet and it was broken. Other than this whole ordeal, the hotel is just overall sketchy and does not feel safe. I was so weirded out and uncomfortable by the whole situation that I barely slept. I cannot say enough bad things about this place. Please spend the extra $30 for a building that isn’t in shambles.

The hotel is very close to the airport. That’s the best feature of this hotel. Old beds, one blanket and a sheet. Air conditioner cycled constantly and smelled mildewy/musty. People loitering inside and outside the building which made us uncomfortable. Coffee in the room was limited to one regular pod and one cream/sugar packet. Request for additional coffee supplies was denied. I was told to drink the coffee in the breakfast room. Hotel clerk sat behind plexiglass with a speaker to talk into which made me think it wasn’t safe to be there. Just sketchy as hell. Don’t recommend.

Service Zéro ! Les employés ne sont pas professionnels. Emplacement zéro ! Si nous n’avons pas de véhicule, alors nous ne pouvons pas compter sur la navette. J’ai appelé durant plus d’une heure et demi le numéro de téléphone, personne ne m’a jamais répondu. Alors j’en ai profité pour faire un footing.

I had a stay at your Romulus hotel. I got a spa tub room and the plug didn’t work. It had wires showing in a hole of the ceiling. The TV was plugged in with an extension cord that came across the tub and for me didn’t look very safe. It was also a tripping hazard. The TV also wasn’t working the best had trouble turning channels and the volume. Had to almost be standing next to the TV to get it to work. When we left early no one was at the front desk and we waited but never seen anyone. This to me is very unprofessional and upsetting.

I highly recommend this hotel. It's a great budget place to stay. Much nicer than other properties in the $60 process range for a night. Stayed Saturday August 2nd, 2024. Close to Detroit Michigan. Right next to a Wendy's and a checkers and several gas stations. Airport across the street. I will definitely be staying here again in the future. Not far from the henry ford museum. I'd even stay herr with family. No complaints especially given the price range. Well lit parking. I can think of any issues with my stay!

The only nice things I can say is the it was reasonably priced and the location to the airport was awesome. The light did not work, couldn’t get extra pillows, we heard “Everything’ from the walking upstairs to the noice in the hallway . And the load cars outside waking us up at 530 to the airport. Heard it all. The wait to check in to the room was long due the shuttle wait. Over all I would never stay there again.
