American Inn - Hotel in Grover Beach - 135 S 5th St, USA

Room was great very clean very nice. Staff on the other hand, not the best what I'm assuming is the owner followed my 3 year old and 6 year old didn't say anything to the adults just followed my children from my vehicle to the room. As well as when we were sitting in our vehicle they sat outside and watched us. Also charged us extra for the exact same amount of people we booked for. Definitely don't appreciate a grown man following around my kids!! Will never be staying here again.

Rooms are ok, clean enough and a ok motel for one night. Especially for the price! Decent location and not too far away from anything really. A bit dodgy building next to the motel, looked like a really rough apartments with broken windows and some wood panels covering parts of windows etc. When we arrived there were three police cars with lights flashing outside the building. Probably nothing to care about if you just wanna sleep there one night and we did not feel too unsafe or anything.

Stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and it was a great choice. Clean room clean bathroom, super close to sand dunes area and downtown pismo. Definitely recommend and will stay here in the future

We loved our stay. It was clean, spacious, well-maintained and close to beaches, restaurants and coffee shops. Will be back!

Near the beautiful beaches. Very basic motel but room was clean and operator was very friendly. Good value for money.

The rooms are very clean, reasonable prices and customer service were great. The location is great as well.

I came across this hotel when we were looking for a place to stay for our anniversary, we could have gone with a fancy hotel but we just needed a place to sleep since we were out practically most of our stay . Needless to say the stay here was surprisingly very good , my husband had reached out to Mike (owner)days in advance and had asked to do something special for our room and to my surprise I walked in to a decorated room , that was very unexpected and heartfelt ❤️ Being the first time that the owner was asked to do something like this & he went along with it , speaks volumes of how well he listens to the customers and his service to them . The room was very clean , bedding, bathroom, towels , shampoo, body wash and soap dispensers were nice . We had clean air AC that kept the room very cool for this summer weather . There were multiple of outlets to plug in your chords . And the service from staff hands down the best . Thank you Mike and staff . We would definitely be staying here again ! ❤️

Enjoyed stay with family for 2 days. Rooms are clean and appliances are new. Folks are very kind. Knocked for one request after midnight and guy helped with smile on face.
