Amber Lantern Motel - Motel in Lake George - 3601 Lake Shore Dr, USA

Have stayed several times over the past 5 years at Amber Lantern. Nothing fancy about the place, but it has a great rustic Adirondack feel to it. Pet friendly which is wonderful for our little Rosie. The owner Tom is always helpful and friendly. Very close to the town and other attractions.

They should have a more updated detail about what’s in the rooms and what type of pet, etc..

Cute little cottages in Diamond Point, about 5-minute drive to all the fun stuff downtown and about 5 minutes up to Bolton Landing. The location is excellent. We stayed in a one-bedroom cottage with a queen bed in the bedroom and a futon that pulled out and slept both our young kids. There was a little efficiency kitchen which was convenient, a little stove, mini fridge and freezer, and plates, silverware, cooking utensils, pots & pans. The cottage is definitely outdated and small, but for the price and location it was great. It served its purpose 😄 I thought the location was great with small kids because it's on the opposite side of the road from the lake so it's quieter, no loud parties at night so the kids could get to sleep no problem. It was very quiet and peaceful both day and night. There's also an inground pool with tables and chairs that the kids loved swimming in every morning before we explored the area. Tom the owner was great! Very friendly and helpful, he helped us with whatever we needed. The WiFi was awful lol, I didn't have any service at all at the cottage, but that's honestly my only complaint about the place! We'd stay here again 🙂

Cozy little place. Very Adirondack feel. Simple + sweet. Perfect for a little getaway. Owner is a gem + very personable. Peaceful evening swim, had the place to myself/the pool is just right. A gentle tip for pool area: Potted flowered plants + Adirondack chairs! Enjoyed my stay!

Amber Lantern is a very relaxing, wooded retreat in Diamond Point, NY. Great location. It is just far enough away from Lake George Village to feel like a mountain vacation but is less then 10 minutes from the Village by car or trolley. Bolton Landing is about 7 minutes North. The cabins are extremely clean and well furnished. The bedding and towels are like new and the beds are very comfortable. A pool is available but I did not try it out but many families were enjoying themselves in it during my stay. Barbecue grills are provided throughout the property and the fire pit at the north end is very inviting and enjoyable. I stayed by myself for 3 days and then was joined by my friends for an additional 5 days. Everyone agreed it was a great place to book for next year.

The stay itself was good. We booked last minute so wound up paying $125 a night which isn’t terrible. The cottages themselves are in decent condition, although obviously very old. The beds are not comfortable but you can get by for a few days. The TV that is in the room only has a about 10-15 channels. All the rest are blocked. The remote barely works… changed batteries in it even. The bathrooms are VERY small. Overall it’s very cute, decent for 2-3 people for 2-3 days. Very close to downtown Lake George.

We stayed here this weekend and absolutely enjoyed our stay. It was very quiet and laid back. The cabins are a little older but very cute and accommodating. We had everything we needed as far as utensils, pots and pans, cups and plates for the kitchen. Everything was clean. We stayed in cabin 11 and it was perfect for our little family of 3. Our daughter loved the pool and they also have a little playground for the kids with a little swing set, basketball hoop, tether ball and a volleyball net and they provide the proper equipment for those games. The only problem we had was that we couldn’t regulate the shower temperature, it was either cold or burning hot. Overall our stay was great and the owner was very friendly and took care of anything anyone needed. We would definitely come back.

This 1960s family-run motel is great. We wanted rustic and we got rustic! Sure it's not fancy, but if you want that go to the Marriott! This was great for our family in 3 separate cottages. We swam each day. The owner Tom is fantastic to deal with prior to arrival and even better once you're there. No request is too much trouble. ||||I saw comments about people and dog issues. You should CALL THE MOTEL before booking (don't rely on on-line reservation)so you don't have surprises when you arrive (we didn't have dogs, but many people do). I think you're lucky to find a place that allows dogs, but you can't go off and lock them in a strange cottage all day and not expect them to bark. Same with large and barking dogs. It's a family place with kids around and it's a big liability for the motel.
