Alpha IT - Computer support and services in Eugene - 2400 River Rd floor 2, USA

DO NOT bring any personal PC or laptop here. They try to take advantage of people and rip them off. My laptop was stuck in a boot loop and I didn't want to reinstall windows without making sure my files were backed up because I had a really important evidence folder. I called and spoke with someone giving them a full breakdown of why I was calling their business and exactly what I needed help with. I explained that my laptop was overheating and that the fans MUST be broken inside because they are very noisy and sound like they're locking up when I try to change the fan settings. I also told them the power supply was broken and the battery also likely needed to be replaced because it shuts off if I accidentally unplug it. They knew that this was an inside job and that parts needed replaced. I went through the trouble of taking my laptop there and left it there under the false pretence that they intended to repair it. They called me and told me that it was "too dirty" to touch which is NOT true it just had a little resin on it where I would break up weed below the keyboard but other than that was not that dirty just used..but that they would charge me the repair costs just the same 160$ to push the reinstall windows button and 80$ to backup the files.. something I could have easily done myself. 240$ for them to overheat and overwork a broken laptop and give it back still broken and probably with additional damage to the internal parts. I told them let me get this straight..you didn't even open it up to see what was wrong and you're going to charge me more than it would cost to repair just to do what I could have done myself and push a button? They said uh yea. I called them snobs and said I would be there to pick up my laptop asap. I called the "hwy 99 computers" (now Emerald city computers) guy off highway 99. He was very professional. He sent me an estimate in an E-mail with my full name and address, detailing the services that I requested before coming and picking up my laptop. He opened it up for me, called me and let me know the fans were broken and needed replaced and the battery needed replaced asap or it was likely to catch fire with continued use in this condition. It cost me 40$ for the new fans, 40$ for the new battery with free cleaning and pickup/delivery free of charge and 60-80$ for labor in shop. So 160$---80$ less than what Alpha IT was going to charge me for leading me on over the phone, wasting my time, further damaging my laptop and then having me come pick it up still broken with parts that were potentially a safety hazard. Thanks but no thanks "Alpha IT"

Underwhelmed. I chose a local business to support local private business. Not sure that's what I got. Regardless, they did the work requested at a fair price. Good thing I called twice to check on the progress. The second call I was told they had been trying to reach me. My computer was ready. Go figure.

I called Alpha IT for assistance with a computer that runs our production software. For some reason the computer got stuck in a "Boot loop" that completely stopped our production. After a quick phone call a plan was put together and the crew at Alpha It had us back in business within a couple of hours. If you have IT needs, this is a great company to work with. Thanks again Alpha IT!

These guys are amazing. They responded to my every need. I really enjoyed that they got back to me in a timely manner and took care of me on an emergency basis. I can think of no other IT company in the Northwest that is more responsive to their clients. This is a great business that responses 24/7.
