Alpenhof Lodge - Hotel in Mammoth Lakes - 6080 Minaret Rd, USA

We would have preferred to stay closer to Mono Lake but didn’t see any good options. Our room was nice and spacious. The staff were friendly and helpful. Like Yosemite, we had to take any food inside because of bears. We were not expecting that. Be aware there are stairs into the lodge and then more stairs once inside. And altitude. Dining options within walking distance.

The hotel has an appealing European alpine look but is a little outdated. My wife and I spent 3 nights in a small queen-sized room on the second floor. It was clean and comfortable. Considering it was summertime, the room was comfortable with the provided fan with the windows open. The design of the hotel's main building will require you to climb some stairs. The hotel is located on the edge of the village. It was a short walk to all the shops, restaurants, and bars. The drive to the Main Lodge and other points of interest in Mammoth Lakes was 10 to 15 minutes away. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room had a small refrigerator and a generic coffee maker, which we used every morning, but no microwave. The hotel has a restaurant and bar, but we did not try them. We would consider staying here again.

I can't comment on the rooms, I ate at Petra's. I love the butternut squash gnocchi in mushroom sauce, the Ceasar, and the crab cakes. 🦀 The array of wines are a delight, plus you can taste before buying. My favorite place to dine in Mammoth. All it lacks is a view.

Very good 5 day stay. Within walking distance of Bluesapalooza music fest. Decent price. Good amenities (in room coffee and refrigerator and microwave available in main building). Good cable TV menu. Comfortable bed. Clean and quiet in a scenic setting. Free WiFi and parking.

Very conveniently located in the village, reasonably priced with plenty of parking. Rooms are nice for an older hotel, definitely has that old world charm with nice simple vintage alpine decor. Racks for hanging your skis/boards. The only downside is that the only microwave is downstairs, so for cheapskates like me you'll have to hike to heat up your food. Maybe the other units in the back buildings have one in the room?

Great place to stay. Summer visit. The food, service, and staff are top notch. Very good central location for many activities.

We had a great experience at this lodge. It is right next to the gondola and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Reasonable pricing and the sauna was nice. My only suggestion was that they discontinued the continental breakfast during covid and should bring that back.
