Alpenglow Bistro - Restaurant in Wilmington - 9 W Main St, USA

This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had! I only wish I could have eaten more - there were a bunch of other things on the menu that I wanted to try. The staff were incredibly friendly and Raquel gave me fantastic advice on what to order. I will definitely be back!!

Such a gem!! We honeymooned in Switzerland and this adorable place brought us right back!!! Cozy, delicious food, friendliest staff ever! The private dining room is stunning!

My family and I were looking for a place to eat last minute and we are so glad we found this spot! It started with a very gracious host who worked to get us a table even though we didn’t have a reservation on a holiday week. Then we had Dan as a server and he was very patient and kind with my niece. He was also very attentive and fun to speak with. All of the staff impressed us that night. The food was also very delicious, the crab cakes were some of the best I’ve ever had. The salads were very fresh and my niece loved her crepe!

This is a hidden gem you have to go to if visiting Wilmington. My husband and I decided to eat dinner here and were overwhelmed with how great of an experience we had. The se. off the bat was phenomenal from hostess to bartender to the food runner. The food was to die for, some of the best restaurant meals we have ever had. To start, I had the buckwheat smoked salmon crepe. So simple and yet amazing. My husband got the Brussels sprouts which he loved. For our entrees, my Husband got the scallops and I got the salmon. I had a fantastic mocktail that wasn’t overly sweet like most places make. My husband got some phenomenal Spanish wine. From start to finish, it was a great experience. Definitely make a reservation!

Very cozy atmosphere. Staff is very friendly and the owner is wonderful! Raquel and Jeff are very knowledgeable and helpful in assisting you with a choosing your meal or a drink. The short rib entree and the pork belly appetizer are highly recommended. If you're having a cocktail I would recommend the alpen glow, nothing else come-pears

The food was too perfect. We ordered the duck and the chicken as our entree and it was absolutely cooked to perfection. Tender and juicy and so much flavor. The appetizer, we ordered crab cakes and pork belly, were so tender it was so delicious. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very cozy and Raquel the waitress is super super bad and great at her job. The general manager Avery is a very friendly and welcoming host. We are definitely going back to try more on the menu! We didn’t take photos unfortunately but believe us when we say the food presentation was pleasing to the eye. Lastly order the old fashy and martini and you won’t be disappointed.

What a lovely birthday dinner we had at Alpenglow for my husband’s birthday! The service and ambiance was welcoming and warm - and the food was 1000/10! We loved every second here!

My husband and I decided to spend a very rare date night out at Alpenglow, and the whole experience was above and beyond in every way! We made a reservation for the more casual pub space downstairs, and sat at a lovely high-top table. The atmosphere was cozy and fun; it felt comfortable and relaxed, but still special. We got the braised pork belly and the german potato salad as appetizers; the pork belly was prepared perfectly, absolutely melting in our mouths, and the potato salad was the perfect accompanying dish. We shared the German bier bratwurst as an entrée, and it was just what we'd hoped for. I had their signature cocktail, The Alpenglow, and it was DELICIOUS! Perfectly balanced, light, and lovely. I wish I'd snapped some photos, but I was too wrapped up in the delicious food and drink, and my lovely dining partner (that was another thing; even though there were other diners in the space, it somehow still felt private, and we talked easily through the whole visit). Not only were the food and atmosphere lovely, but the service was impeccable. We will definitely be planning another date night at Alpenglow! 5 stars for sure.
