My husband and I had a wonderful time staying at the Aloha guesthouse. The rooms are immaculate and the view is stunning. It is conveniently located near Captain cook and all the great snorkeling spots are close by. The property is a 5-acre fruit farm and Lee was gracious enough to give us a tour. The best part of stay has to be Svetlana’s breakfast. I used to wake up excited about what we would have for breakfast that day :) It is truly a tropical paradise. I would love all my friends and family to experience Lee and Svetlana’s hospitality.

One of the best trips ever. While getting there was just a little adventurous (the road up is a tad bit bumpy), it was without a doubt one of the most enjoyable experiences we have ever had. The hosts Lee and Svetlana were all you could ask for. Pleasant, knowledgeable, and hyper-focused on our experience. ||The view from our room was spectacular. Waking up to this view of the ocean is not an experience I will soon forget.||The food is almost entirely sourced on their beautiful, slice of heaven, farm and Svetlana prepares and presents it with incredible skill. The meals were, without a doubt, among the best meals we have ever had.|| Their recommendations on excursions were on point and Lee's insights into the best ways to experience them was incredibly helpful. ||This was our first trip to Hawaii but won't be our last. I am so grateful that we found this wonderful spot. We made memories to last a lifetime. Thank you Lee and Sveta. We feel like we have known you forever. We will absolutely return to this amazing place.

Two words: Stay here. This idyllic operation reaffirms the benefits of staying in a sumptuous, smart, and sustainable BnB over a luxury resort. Writing a review is challenging only in that the reviews posted below--which are definitely worth reading-- already say it all, and with passion. That passion stems from the inimitable way the Aloha Guest House encapsulates the beauty and magical ethos of the Big Island. Two reasons: Location and Operation. Situated atop a dramatic hillside at the end of a romantically rugged (if at first daunting) single lane road (heed the driving instructions mapped out in painstakingly, spot-on detail and you're fine), the gorgeous, organically-elegant jewel is inviting and in top notch condition. It feels as though you've been privileged to enter a tasteful, well-appointed private residence, which is indeed the case: Lee and Svetlana, the owners and operators, have lovingly and tirelessly nurtured the property over several labor-intensive years inside and out, taming the wild hillside into an tropical cornucopia that provides the core foodstuffs you will enjoy daily. (It is a naturalist gardeners dream come true...make it a point to walk the grounds and meet the uncannily personable resident chickens.) Inside, impeccable resort-level details anticipate very need and desire. The organic, Instagrammable breakfasts that Svetlana expertly prepares daily with culinary precision are delectably unforgettable. Those who care about the planet will be impressed by the rainwater collection system, among many other environmentally-sound efforts. With brevity top of mind, I will wrap this up by focusing on the most important and distinguishing determinant: the insight and positive energy that Lee and Svetlana generously bring to their shared breakfast table. In a tough and demanding people-centric business, they are willing to generously map out the arc of your stay with insider expertise, advice and judgment calls while introducing you to chill, standout Big Island communities, locations, and culture. Icing on the cake: As an LGBT couple, my husband and I felt genuinely welcome, which is always appreciated and never taken for granted. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and look forward to our return.||#lbgtfriendly #sustainablelodging #unforgettable #bigislandbest

Your reward for driving up Old Tobacco Road, a one-lane, rutted, rock-strewn public road, is Aloha Guest House. Run by the two loveliest people you will meet during your Hawaiian visit, Lee and Svetlana, this B&B is a gem. Svetlana’s breakfasts, which alternate sweet to savory, cannot be topped anywhere in Hawaii. All the organic fruit served at breakfast is grown on Aloha Guest House’s property; it is fresh! Any egg dish prepared is made with eggs from the chickens at the property.||Reserve the Kohola, or Whale Room; it is clean, cozy and comfortable. The view from the room’s expansive windows is breathtaking. Morning, evening, any time of day you will enjoy the scenery of lush green land, blue sky, and sparkling water. This room also has a convenient private entrance from the garden, with a short walk to the car park. You will get a good night’s sleep on the good memory-foam mattress. Lee and Svetlana are keen to help with your plans to explore the Big Island, offering advice of what to see and how long it take to get there, and even what the weather conditions will be. When Lee said a spot would be windy, he was correct! You will enjoy your stay at Aloha Guest House, feeling as if you are special guests of your hosts.

We loved our first visit to the Aloha Guest House in 2016 so much we had to return on our next trip to the Big Island. Lee and Svetlana's place is a tropical paradise, the grounds are beautiful and the view is absolutely stunning. It's a peaceful place to relax after a day exploring the island. Lee and Svetlana are exceptional hosts, and Svetlana's breakfasts are delicious. We learnt about (and tasted) a variety of local fruits we had never heard of before. Coffee and breakfast on the lanai with Lee and Svetlana was a great way to start our day. We can't wait to return again soon!

Svetlana and Lee provide the best B&B stay you could ever want. ||||Every morning Lee gives a presentation of the organic breakfast sourced from their property. During our nine day stay the breakfasts alternated between sweet one day savory the next. Svetlana makes her own jams and sauces including a delicious creamy yogurt. The banana bread was also delicious. A plate of fresh fruit was served each morning. There is fresh Medium Roast Kona coffee from a local farm you can tour.||||The views from the rooms are beautiful proving great sunsets. Going to sleep listening to the night sounds is relaxing.||||They have coolers and ice packs for day trips. Tommy Bahama beach chairs and water gear for the beach. Lee pointed out the best local beaches, one of which a private party allows 50 guests at a time to access. It’s three miles to a local national park on the beach. We had no issue doing day drives to all areas of the park. The volcano National park is about 75 miles.||||As one reviewer noted Old Tabacco Road first tried at night can be a little daunting, but viewed in the morning isn’t bad. Another couple staying at the same time had a mustang convertible. It sounded like the muffler was missing they indicated the rental company gave it to them that way. We had a GMC Traverse which is a glorified AWD car. No issues on the road.

Aloha Guest House b&b is a truly magical place! Lee and Svetlana are amazing hosts. We really loved our 3 night stay in the Kohola room - all of the windows made it amazing to watch every sunset and wake up to the sounds of nature was very relaxing. Svetlana makes the best breakfast on the island hands down! The organic fruit right from their property was delicious as well as the coffee ! It was so enjoyable to sit with the hosts and other guests every morning for breakfast and get recommendations for our trip. My husband and I cannot recommend staying here enough. We can’t wait to come back someday! Just make sure you have a high clearance vehicle for the bumpy road up to the b&b and you’re set.

Best bed&breakfast experience ever! The Aloha guest house is a gem, in a beautiful and quiet spot surrounded by nature. The rooms are stunning, breakfast is amazing with only fresh organic ingredients mainly produced by the farm itself. Lee and Svetlana are such great guests, that provided very helpful reccomendations to explore the Big Island. Don't be afraid of the road, you won't be disappointed when you arrive there. Highly recommended!

The view that we had there was amazing. You need to hike around 20-30min through the woods, and also step into the water at some point, but it s worth it. We were alone there and could enjoy the sunset properly.
