This was our experience at the Aloft hotel. The rooms do not provide privacy when taking a shower or using the bathroom. There is a sliding door to the toilet with no fan and a curtain that separated the shower from the open room. The separation wall from the shower and the beds, has gaps in it so you can see the shower. We ordered towels and never got them. There was no complimentary breakfast provided and coffee was taken up exactly at 10am. The valet information wasn’t clear and Craig W was very rude, we didn’t use it, but was charged. They did take it off however we’ll see when it’s credited to our account. The luggage carts just need to be thrown out, useless design. We ordered 3 drinks from the bar, a $85 charge. Simple vodka sprite and Jack and coke. Stephanie, who works there, was amazing! She needs to run that place. I had a delivery come and no one told us it was there after many communication attempts. Will not stay there again or recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for my husbands birthday as a surprise trip to Savannah, we have both never been but have stayed with aloft before so we booked excited. The front desk ladies were the only redeeming quality of this hotel, one was kind enough to help me with a special request, and in general she was always very kind and helpful. That’s where the good things end. The place is extremely dirty, the floors, the seats were dirty with crumbs, stickiness and stains. The communal areas very heavily used and noticeably unclean. I wasn’t even comfortable sitting down on the lobby couch at check it due to the large visible stains. Our room wasn’t cleaned properly, our bed had what appeared to be shoe marks on the bedding. I called and asked for the maids to bring some new bedding and they never came, the next day the maids skipped my room despite calling asking specifically for more towels, the pool is small and in a basement, as well as the gym. Disappointing stay all in all with the aloft. The location is on the outskirts so make sure to visit the visitor center to get your bearings, otherwise would not recommend you stay here. Motel level experience for a hotel price. Dirty!

I thought it was a good stay aside from no extra blankets, no refill on the shampoo and conditioner. Also, the maintenance worker banging on our door and trying to come into our room while we were sleeping stating that he had to come fix our “blinds” but it was working fine. Lastly, I would stay here again due to the location of the hotel(it was pretty close to downtown and just convenient) also it’s definitely one of the more affordable and nicer hotels in the Savannah historic district!

No privacy when showering (no door separating the bathroom from the hallway), thankfully it was just my husband and I, but that was an odd experience and unexpected. No fan where the toilet is. Refrigerator made a piercing noise when plugged in so we unplugged it and didn’t use it. No thermostat in the room. Very noisy outside with traffic and ambulances. We only watched TV at night but it buffered/loaded approximately every 10-15 minutes. The front desk person spoke with us without looking up when we ordered our breakfast that we Initially thought was free- it was expensive and not worth $7.00 for oatmeal. We didn’t feel safe when it was dark and we heard that there was a shooting at City Market, which is pretty close by this hotel. Based on what locals have said, at 9pm you want to be in your hotel room. We would not stay here again. We did enjoy our time in Savanah overall, mostly due to the tours and tour guides. Stay on Broughton Street. More people were around and so was Leopold’s Ice Cream and that was scrumptious! The First African Baptist Church and the the Hop on and Hop Off Trolleys are a must see!

Edited: The management of the hotel did reach out and offered some compensation to apologize for the experience. I may consider staying again. This is one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. We arrived after check-in time at 4:15. Upon entering the garage we were told there were no luggage carts and we would need to carry our bags up without one. At the front desk there was a long line and two people working the desk, one of them on the phone. They were taking down names and phone numbers and telling guests they would call them when they could check them in. They said this was because many people had arrived at once and they wanted to make sure to get everyone checked in in the correct order. I didn’t think this made sense and I was correct because after waiting for over an hour we discovered they were actually waiting on clean rooms. We ended up spending over an hour in the lobby waiting on a room to be cleaned after repeatedly being told it would only be another 10 minutes. When I was finally able to check in I asked if they were going to comp our parking, part of our stay, etc due to the check in process being horrible. The front desk supervisor said the only thing she could do was offer us free breakfast. The staff were unfriendly, unapologetic and didn’t seem to care about the lobby of unhappy customers. The manager was no where to be found. The room was okay other than an exposed hole in the bathroom wall with a dripping pipe and visible mold/mildew from the moisture. We went to breakfast the following morning to get our free breakfast and my wife could not eat the menu items due to her dietary restrictions. I asked the front desk if she could get a yogurt from the cooler instead of the menu items (it was of lesser value). The front desk staff said no and I would need to be pay $4 for the yogurt.

Even with as busy as it was (SCAD graduation weekend), the front desk staff were kind and helpful. Early check-in wasn't available but they let us keep our luggage there while we waited for 4 PM. Our room was clean and well-stocked. Interesting open bathroom concept because there was no door, just a curtain that separates the main area from the sink/shower area. My friend's dog came with us and the front desk had treats for her and there's an area in the courtyard for dogs to relieve themselves. Location is fine, next to a gas station and across the street from a bus port. Lots of good food just a 5-10 minute walk away (I recommend Maple Street Biscuit Company and The Coffee Fox for coffee!) with plenty of squares with benches and shade. River Street is about a 15 min walk. We drove separately and were going to avoid valet parking because of the fee ($35 + tax per night) but it was much more convenient and efficient than we expected.

Nice people in a good location on the edge of the historic district. It's fine but the rooms are very small. Just me but I like to iron my shirts after travelling and there is no iron or ironing board in the room, They did bring one up after I called the front desk to request. No breakfast either. Parking in $35 a night which while expensive is comparable to other hotels in the area but look for street parking which is free 8PM-8AM. and reasonably cheap at other times.

We came here after a bad experience at another Savannah hotel. They were so accommodating after a last minute reservation! Everyone from the ladies at the desk to the valet were so friendly and helpful! We loved the location and walked to all of the attractions. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the area was quiet. I took advantage of the fitness center. It was clean and had nice equipment. I would stay here again and would recommend it to others!

What a gem. This is a total find. The apartment is very large and has everything you need for a comfortable visit. We were two friends, so I used the sofa bed as an extra room. It worked very well - it’s big and comfortable and, if you ask, they’
