Great find! Vacationing from out of town and during our walk we came upon Alo Cafe which is Located in Old Town Scottsdale. Atmosphere is small and cozy. Outdoor seating has just a few wooden picnic tables surrounded by small trees and indoor simple but very inviting. Our waitress also the barista came around and recommended the chaga, matcha latte, so delicious! This is not on the menu, so made it a lil extra special. Ordered the Monte Cristo which I've never had before and wow, delicious & huge portion!
The Monte Cristo Sandwich is one of the best things I ever had for breakfast. I recommend adding an (overeasy) egg to each side. Also, great coffee and lovely service!
Came for the cornflake French toast and ended up with the monte cristo! Best decision. Very unique and tasty, huge portion! The only reason i didn’t rate 5 stars is the avo toast we ordered, while the flavors were good, the actual avo on the toast was pretty browned and the fruit bowl also looked a bit old and sad. But A+ for French toast and service :)
It’s worth the wait! Hand crafted bites & a small kitchen, start off with some cafe drinks while waiting! Had the corn flake French toast w/ hot fruit compote! 10/10! Service was great! All the way from the host greeting us to our server wishing us a great rest of your day, Alo Cafe has def made it to my list. Cute and tucked away right before Old Town, highly recommend!
Be cautious, parking might be slim -just how the area is! Nothing to do with restaurant :)
Great little gem in old town! We loved the family atmosphere and the brunch food was amazing. Highly recommend the corn flake crusted French toast with the freshly made berry compote.
Decent breakfast and service. Corned beef hash tasted good, a bit too salty. Eggs were great, veggies in omelette cooked just right. Hatch Chile was not spicy. 5/5 stars for the toast, yummy! We sat outside as sitting inside is not roomy for a person in a wheelchair. When trying to park, come in from the south.
I came to the Alo Cafe for Sunday brunch with my parents and am so glad we did! This quaint little Estonian cafe is tucked away in Old Town Scottsdale and definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but we decided to dine inside since they had a table ready.
I got the 2 eggs over easy with house potatoes, white toast, and bacon. When I get a breakfast dish like this, I usually can't finish my potatoes since they are heavy and over plentiful. However, I cleaned my plate! The house potatoes had the perfect seasoning with a hint of sage, the bacon was cooked with just the right amount of crispy and chewy that I like. The mimosas are also a good compliment to the dish.
Servers are also very friendly. They also have homemade jam I recommend getting for your toast. It's only 50 cents extra but totally worth it.
Thank you Alo, I will be back the next time I am in Phoenix/Scottsdale!
I just had the best little breakfast at this very charming and quaint cafe in Old Town - Alo Cafe. I visited mid morning around 10am for a late breakfast.
I sat on the patio, it reminded me of when I lived in Europe (maybe because I was sitting next to a group of Irish travelers 🤣).
To start, I ordered a hot chaga latte which was amazing. It was just the perfect amount of spice and sweetness…it had a unique and playful flavor.
For breakfast I ordered the Tortilla Espanola with aioli and romesco sauce. Even though everything is made fresh to order, I didn’t wait more than 10 minutes and the food was delicious!
My server was super sweet, friendly and smiled when she spoke to me. She welcomed me in (as it was my first time dining there) and explained my questions about the menu thoroughly. She was knowledgeable and offered recommendations.
All in all, a great dining experience! I would love to come again and sit on the patio for happy hour…I will definitely come back.
