I read many reviews for different places to stay in Newport leading up to our proposal vacation. We usually stay in a hotel but the wonderful reviews for the Almondy Inn and the hope for a romantic stay led me to try something different and book a bed and breakfast. It turned out to be the best booking I ever made. Many reviews noted how great the innkeepers John and Laurence were during their stay. Not only did they meet those expectations, but they exceeded in every way. John was helpful literally seconds after walking in the door by talking about the plans for the proposal with me and helping me verify the proposal plan his vast knowledge of the area. Both John and Laurence were helpful throughout our stay by offering great ideas for places to enjoy dinner and sights to see. They also were amazing hosts during Laurence’s amazing breakfasts and during any time of the day when we needed anything at all. The location of inn was also great. So many shops and restaurants were in walking distance. We stayed in the Blue room which was very clean and cozy. The aesthetic of the inn and quietness were also very welcome. I vehemently recommend the inn for anyone looking for a great place to stay in Newport. We could not have asked for a better place to stay during such a wonderful weekend in our lives that we will never forget.
This was a beautiful B&B experience! We received helpful communication prior to our arrival. We were warmly greeted as we arrived at the wine and cheese pairings. The inn keepers sat down and chatted with all guests and made introductions. Our room was very well appointed with all comforts and necessities. Additional advice was available from Inn Keepers John and Lawrence. Our breakfast was served warm, delicious French pastry, avocado toast with egg and fresh fruit. Our 2nd day repeated with wine and cheese in the afternoon, good advice on dinner arrangements, boat reservations with Shelby. The 2 night experience was relaxed, indulgent, a step back in time of hospitality but with the upgrade of every modern amenity. Thank you for a wonderful weekend’ parking on site was a huge plus!
It is such a quaint cozy b & b. They make you feel like you are at home. We loved our room. The staff was exceptional. The breakfast incredible! We will definitely be back.|You could not be at a better location. You can walk to everything. I would recommend the trolley tour you learn a lot of history about Newport. The cliff walk is a must. Restaurants are everywhere! Great place to visit!|If you have time go in the Mansions. They are also worth the tour.
For the 2nd time in a year, we stayed at the historic Almondy Inn, restored to the glory of the 1890’s Victorian style with fine antiques. John and Laurance take care of everything so perfectly – and they are wonderful people to spend time with (or ask for ideas on what to do and where to go. The rooms are romantic and beautiful (our favorite is the Blue Bay) and the beds and linens provide the most relaxing sleep ever. The location is so convenient to the best that Newport has to offer – everything is close by, which is good because you will want to walk after the amazing breakfasts served each morning. Whether you want to enjoy an afternoon people watching from the comfortable chairs on the front porch, shop the local shops, visit the museums and mansions, or head down to the waterfront to partake in lobsters, clam chowder, and a Mudslide, the Almondy Inn is the place to go in Newport.
It was very easy to give a five star review. From the helpful information sent prior to our arrival, the friendly welcome from John and Lawrence and the immaculate room with lovely amenities we knew we made the right choice. The cookies and afternoon wine and cheese and of course the fabulous breakfast really warranted a sixth star. We will be back.
Amazing service, beautiful inn, great stay! The food at breakfast was delicious and the owners were very nice. The porch outside was perfect for sitting and reading a book. Also the location of the inn was great because it was so close to the water and the little town along the docks. |Definitely recommend!
Amazing stay at Almondy Inn. The service was superb, the meals were delicious and every need was meticulously taken care of . If you want to feel pampered and spoiled this is the place. ! The manager bent over backwards to cater to our every need. The accommodations were very comfortable. I would highly recommend Almondy Inn for your next stay in Newport.
First, the only minus; due to a tub mishap around three years ago (I believe), there was a major water leak from our room. Repairs were made that look great, but, left a major tilt to the bathroom floor in our room. I’m not talking a quaint or quirky minor tilt like an older home may have, but a noticeable tilt that say, a secret service director might comment upon as unsafe for agent placement. Everything else about our stay was great. I thought the bed was a tad too soft ( I could fall asleep on asphalt), but my girlfriend loved it. She also thought the pillows were the best from any stay, anywhere at any time. The service was close to perfect. The innkeeper, John, was a kind fellow who allowed us an early check-in. The room was clean. Exceptional kudos to assistant innkeeper, Shelby. She hosted the five o’clock wine and cheese get together, baked killer chocolate chip cookies, cooked and managed the delicious breakfast the next morning, was personable, down to earth, intelligent and tireless. Dozens of restaurants and bars are a short walk from the Almondy Inn. Remarkably, it was very quiet on a Friday night. I did hear a slightly inebriated singalong from the piano bar down the street; also, a few drunken bachelorette partygoers walked by on the way back to their retreats. More amusing than annoying. The Almondy consists of five rooms; it was full but I never heard any noise from any room at any time. Would we go again? Definitely.
Perfect place to stay in Newport. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Wes who was welcoming and informative about the Lodge and surrounding area. The bed was comfortable and the room was charming. Breakfast was delicious. Coffee, teas, and a v
Nicely crafted bracelets, love the fit and the clasp they use. Very durable. And love the designs! They were helpful and held a specific color and size for me when the new shipment came in. Conveniently on the last day of my trip! I did overhear a gi
This bed and breakfast is an absolute must stay in Newport. It's adorable, clean, and cozy. Walking distance to the beach and the bars, but far enough that you can sleep soundly. Serena, the inn keeper is the sweetest person you'll ever meet. She tru
