Allendale / West Grand Rapids KOA Holiday - Campground in Allendale - 8275 Warner St, USA

Loved our stay here! The owner is so nice (you can tell he enjoys what he does). Our site was easy to get in & out. Clean bathroom & shower. Other things we enjoyed: walking trails, lots of trees, well kept landscaping, feeding goats, water wars, hay ride, neon ride (music is terrific), paint ball was a blast! This campground did not disappoint. Caution: the speed limit in 4.93 mph. Do not exceed.

After reading other campers horrible reviews about the staff and facilities of this KOA I was highly motivated so share my 5 star review. We live in Allendale so this was a great location that still felt like we were away. Yes the roads are dirt but you’re camping. Yes some things are not perfect but you are camping. Yes the speed limit is slow but you are camping around a bunch of young children. With the HIGHLY enforced speed limit I felt at complete ease to let my kids have free rein to explore the whole campground solo. The service and staff are so friendly (of course unless you don’t follow the enforced rules.. welcome to being an adult lol). The passion and vision are there when you chat with the owner, who is super kind. We overall had an amazing experience and will gladly come back.

This place should be a KOA resort. There are so many activities for the kids and family. Mohawk is a wonderful character and you can tell he really loves his job and the kids love him. Staff was welcoming and helpful and there is a very well stocked camp store with everything you need and more. Super quiet at night with spacious sites and shade. There is a Kamp K-9, showers that could use a little updating but were clean. Laundry facilities and two ponds to watch the local wildlife. Goats to feed and pet, pool, jump pad. Nicely landscaped and everyone was friendly.

The Allendale/West Grand Rapids KOA is an excellent choice for all. The sites are more than ample with full hook-ups, some with concrete pads others with wonderful shade trees. There are multiple activities for children along with quiet and serenity for adults. The host, Mohawk, truly loves his job and treats each and every guest like family. The staff very friendly and helpful.

We didn't know what to expect coming here down from Mackinaw on our way back to Texas. Super friendly staff. This park is what you see in TV commercials for KOA. Great pool lots of activities that are interactive for kids and adults together. Very laid back, lots of tall trees. We stayed on a back in concrete pad with a fire ring making nights fun. We usually travel only to visit cities or area attractions and rarely venture out into the parks we stay. We used the pool, hiked the park, fed the goats, used the paintball area. Staff is really involved in making this park all it can be! We camped at Allendale / West Grand Rapids KOA in a Motorhome.

The staff at the campground was friendly and welcoming. Someone takes great care of the flowers and gardens. The playground is limited but in good condition. The location is convenient to Grand Rapids and the lakeshore. Sites are very narrow. Our site had some living trees, but several stumps and a dead tree. During our weekend stay, restrooms were not clean, and the bathroom and shower facilities were in poor condition. The pool was small and overcrowded. We were scolded for speeding despite the speedometer reading under 5 mph. On balance, this did not meet our expectations of a KOA campground.

We had a pop-up camper and stayed in the very back by the pond, lucked out and didn't have any neighbors so we had a big section to ourselves while still being close to the bath house. Loved how much there was for kids at this campground. Goats, playground at both the front and back of the property, and a giant bounce thing that my girls loved! Everything was very clean and well kept, we had a nice and easy stay (with 2 toddlers!) and the owner could not have been any nicer and helpful! Would recommend this place to anyone, even if you just need a cheap place to crash near Grand Haven.

Owners are great. Love mr Mohawk and the glow hay ride. The facilities were immaculate and the store was spectacular. The goats were playful and the paintball were smashing.
