A beautiful spot to visit and pass the time. It has the most attractive ginkgo trees I've ever seen. On most weekends and afterhours during the week, the parking lot on Tripp Circle offers free parking. Check the parking lot sign for times when a permit is needed and know that during large sports events, it is a paid lot and likely full. In addition to the garden, walk down to the Lakeshore Path to check out Lake Mendota, see if any of the rowing teams are training by the Porter Boathouse, and walk around the beautiful Adams and Tripp Halls, part of the University's Lakeshore Dorms.
Beautiful, little, well-taken-care of garden within the city. Various plants, benches, small streams, and paths that intertwine and weave through the lush vegetation. Spent about an hour here as a family walking the grounds and viewing the plants. The garden is free to explore, and there is parking nearby on the street or for a fee. Beautiful garden to sit for a while, while trying to experience nature within the city.
A lot of beautiful garden packed into a small space located near the Ag campus and Lakeshore dorms area of UW- Madison. Perfect spot for to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting.
This garden has a quiet atmosphere, it's more of a herb vegetable garden with some shade. It doesn't strikes me as somewhere to go more than 2 or 3 times. Some pretty impressive squash and the colours from the flowers are pleasing to the eyes.
It was beautiful, even in the rain. Lots of produce growing and flowers blooming. We enjoyed reading the id cards & wished there was more. It was peaceful. I enjoyed the respite back when I was a student at the University, and the same atmosphere exists today.
This is a hidden gem on the UW campus. It’s a beautiful place to take a walk, sit on a bench, and relax. The flowers are stunning in spring, summer and fall. Entrance is free, but donations help maintain the beautiful landscape. I would definitely recommend for a cute date spot!
The fact that this place is free is incredible. So many beautiful plants and trees. It is obvious that a lot of care, attention, and love goes into the maintenance of this garden. Saw several species I have never encountered before. The succulents were especially impressive.
Celebrating 30 years June 2019, stunning gardens! Multiple styles in one setting to include container, rock, woodland, English - crazy variety of hostas along with a Koi pond, lovely shade trees and various spots to sit and enjoy.
