This park is super close from where I leave. I go there for walks almost everyday. It's well managed and clean. The walking trail has got trees on either side which is great during summer heat. If you are lucky enough, you might even see deer grazing in the side of the trail.
This is a small, quiet park area with a short gravel walking loop and an overlook. There are a few benches around the loop and the grass is well maintained, including the flag pole and wreath displays underneath. In the rear there is a billy goat trail down to the water. Nearest parking is at the library adjacent. Across the bridge the park is connected to the larger trail system.
Beautiful little slice of nature in the city! Deer roam freely in front of walkers, cyclists and runners. Plenty of benches to sit and enjoy the view.
Nice park. It has walking or running trails, a lookout area, small trail down to go down to the water, and benches along the way. Not much going on, but it is nice! Wish they did more for it being a Veterans park though. They have a flag and memorial spot, but I think they could do more.
Apart from puddles when it rains and goose droppings, this is a decent park to visit. It's very small in terms of a trail. There's plenty of shading and benches, and you can place a blanket on the grass if you want to as well. We bring our dog here and occasionally play off leash depending on who is at the park. There is also a picnic area where you can grill and have gatherings. Walking distance to 4-mile run trail.
very clean and silence. Not a place to party or get loud. veterans will like it a lot.
Nice park. Plenty of places to sit down and relax. Your able to see the water from both sides of the walking path so that is nice…. Only hit(and yes I know it’s in the city) is that you can still really hear the sound of the city here.
Been here plenty of times! Itâs great if you want to see ducks, turtles, etc. The park is so beautiful and itâs a good way to explore nature! I usually come here with my family during the summer when we do our early morning walks.
Low planes fly by, trains go byâ¦awesome for kids! Wheelchair Accessible play areas. Street parking, gated play areas, port-a-potty (large and small). Splash pads in summer. Swings for mommy and baby! Kids liked the maze area a lot!
I really liked this park. It's very nice and relaxing place. Many people playing volleyball. Others jogging with their pets. Sometimes parkour people is around too. Take your time in this place, is very comfortable.

We attended the pop-up art festival today, there were so many talented artists on display, the art work, jewelry vendors along with the leather vendors, food etc... Were a welcome surprise! We purchased some icecream pottery bowls from the Art Leagu
I only went to the playground. Which was nice to be a small neighborhood park. Everything was clean and well well kept. There is not a lot of shade at the actual playground area. I have a toddler who is 3 and everything was so hot she couldn't enjoy
We love putting in our kayaks here and enjoying the river. Wish you had a proper launch however. Parking is easy. This gem of a park has a lot to offer. Explore the trails by foot or by bike.
Big fan of this place. Fishers come here, and the path around the pond is paved. It's a mostly clean and well maintained park. I walk the dog here at least once a week in the morning walks. Recommend for nice short walks. I realize my dog is in the
When the Civil War started and the Union took Alexandria many escaped slaves, called Contraband, poured into the city to escape their former masters. This overcrowding caused a high mortality rate. The soldiers seized a undeveloped plot of land and
