Alister Uptown - Apartment complex in Charlotte - 810 E 7th St, USA

Please I encourage you to move elsewhere! The windows here are original to the 2008 construction which may not seem like the worst thing but they condensate heavily causing water damage and excess moisture in your unit before you’ve even moved in. I pay over $1500 for a studio in this ‘luxury’ apartment just to be told to keep a towel at the base of my window which is laughable. I encourage you to see my photos for yourself-I am not making this up but this will be your reality here. I have discussed with other residents and based on other reviews-this is a common experience. This cold winter has been even colder as a result of these windows letting in cold air. I’ve been told this isn’t true but I bought an infrared thermometer that says otherwise. I have brought this to the attention of leasing agent, Diana Wolff, who I stopped getting a reply from and property manager, Jennifer Hester, as well as onsite maintenance.

Do not move here. I have had problems with black mold and frequently find cockroaches in a studio apartment that I am paying $1800/month. They will not let me break my lease without penalty regardless of these issues. While Diana has been helpful. Jen is an absolute joke of a property manager and diminishes whatever problems you are experiencing. I have friends in CLT that pay similar prices and have never experienced issues like this. Look elsewhere, there are plenty of options.

I enjoy living here the leasing and maintenance team are amazing! From the moment I moved in, Jenn and Diana have been incredibly helpful and attentive. Whether it's a minor repair or a question about my lease, they always respond promptly and take care of everything! What sets this team apart is not only their technical skills but also the team’s friendly and approachable nature. Cody and Randy genuinely care about the residents and always go above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. They take the time to build relationships and create a sense of community within the complex. Living here has been an absolute pleasure because of the amazing leasing and maintenance team. Their dedication and professionalism make this place feel like a true home.

I really enjoy living at Alister. Although it’s not an abundance of resident activities and amenities, the ones that are available are personally just enough. The fitness center is probably the amenity that I utilize the most. It would be nice to have a smith machine or squat rack in there, but the dumbbells go up to a reasonable weight and there are a good number of machines that allow you to hit muscle groups from multiple angles. I’m a regular in the leasing office for free coffee (lol!) and every time I go the ladies greet me with a smile which is very comforting. My building is relatively quiet and my apartment is spacious enough for just me. The maintenance team is also stellar. My requests are usually always addressed either the next day or the day after next. My only gripe is with the parking on the weekends. I’ve had a tough time getting visitors a parking space in the visitors area, but I rarely have multiple guests over so it’s hardly ever an issue. I just re-signed my lease for my third year. Cheers to good ole Alister!

I’ve lived at alister for nearly a year now and just resigned for another lease term. My experience has been fantastic so far, the staff are welcoming and happy to help with anything I’ve needed and been diligent with any maintenance that’s been requested. Jen and Diana have been especially helpful with ensuring my experience here so far has been quite enjoyable. I would definitely recommend stopping in to the office and taking a tour to see if alister is right for you!

It’s just OKAY. The only positive is the location but that’s about it. These aren’t luxury apartments. We lived in the townhome and the way they installed the kitchen cabinets, you could only open one door at a time. Diana is always sweet and kind to help… Always tried just going to her for requests and avoiding the property manager, Jen. Jen is rude. She will not ever get up from her desk to talk to you. Just stays seated and speaks to you through her glass window. Dismisses any issue you may have and tries to deflect whenever you ask for some sort of compensation. I’ve had normal interactions with her but the negative ones outnumber the good ones.

Loved our experience here. Amenities and community activities were wonderful, from food trucks to special events and vendors. Diana and Jennifer were always a pleasure to interact with. Maintenance was very quick to respond and correct issues.

This is my first google review! My experience with Jen in the leasing office was so disrespectful I felt the need to warn future residents. I had a scheduled 2pm tour at Alister with Jen, do you know when she showed up? 2:50pm. Do you think she apologized? Because she didn't, I will get into this in a sec. I arrived just before 2pm to find a current reside irate outside of the leasing office because their car had just been towed from the property which they pay to rent! Hanging from the leasing office door was a clock stating they would be out of office until 3pm. Surely you would think they would notify the 2pm of the schedule change, but no notification! Jen said she called me, I looked through my phone log, and had no missed calls from her! Crazy! She completely blew me off to go to lunch with her friend. How do i know she was out to lunch with a friend instead of doing her job? Because fortunately I found one of the maintenance people outside the building and they called her for me. SHE SAID LETS RESCHDULE FOR 2:30PM AND SHE DIDNT SHOW UP UNTIL 2:50pm!!! Missed our original time slot, missed our rescheduled time slot AND DID NOT APOLOGIZE AT ALL!!!!! Jen acts like she is the owner of Alister and we are all at her mercy. If I was upper management id be pissed!! The cherry on top was that she told me she called the appointments for the day to confirm if they were coming. I know for a fact she was lying about that because my current roommate was the one who was scheduled for 3pm. I called him, asked if she had called, she did not. Oh and as we were coming back from our tour, her friend that she went to lunch with was in the leasing office. Jen must've gave this women a crazy look because she immediately looked at me with raised eyebrows. I can only assume the amount of bad mouthing about me after I left was exponential even though its entirely Jens fault accountability and responsibility would've made this review never happen. Apologies go a long way. Way to go JEN!!
