Alice Person House - Bed & breakfast in Williamsburg - 616 Richmond Rd, USA

In the fall of 2021, we stayed two nights in the Capitol Room Suite. The room is very spacious as well as the bathroom. Breakfast was amazing and very accomodating. It was fun sitting around at the breakfast table and meeting people from other states also staying here. There is plenty to do in Williamsburg so we enjoyed sightseeing and coming back to the house. Our hostess, Jean, was so nice. We loved listening to her stories and would love to come back and stay again. We definitely recommend her bed and breakfast inn.

My husband and I, being for the first time childless at Christmas, decided to meet up with a friend in Williamsburg, VA. It was a bit of a last minute decision so we scrambled to get reservations for accommodations and dining. WOW!! Did we luck out!! Jean is an absolutely fantastic hostess. The b n b is an unobtrusive home on Richmond St a half mile walk to Colonial Williamsburg. It is clean, well furnished, tastefully decorated (for Christmas!) and very comfortable. She upgraded our room to the one with the sitting area. The extra space was lovely to have (our stay was 5 evenings). The bathroom was spacious and updated. There was sufficient parking in the back, by the garage. (the home is on a corner lot). The breakfasts were hot, filling and great. We are veterans of many bed n breakfasts around the country and this is among the best.

My husband Mark and I stayed at the Alice Person House in September, 2019. It was our second time there and we had a wonderful experience. We chose this B & B because we had such a wonderful experience the first time we stayed. The house is clean, cozy and beautiful. The rooms are lovely and so very comfortable. The beds are great and the furnishings are so lovely and charming. The bathrooms are very clean and roomy. The showers are great, etc., etc. i could go on and on about how much I love this place! It's the only place we'll stay when in Williamsburg. The hostess, Jean, is the best! She cooks a wonderful breakfast and is so accomodating. She is very knowledgeable about the area and if need be, can provide you with great suggestions on what to do and where to go. The house is located very close to William and Mary College and local attractions. All in all, I don't think anyplace in Williamsburg compares to the Alice Person House! Jean is the best host ! We truly view her as a friend ! I am not a hotel kind of gal, and we have stayed at some b&b's that are not very nice...BUT I always feel so at home at the Alice Person House. Always very clean, and the rooms feels like our home away from home ! I'm not even sure how many times we have stayed now ! Can't wait to visit again ! Oh...and her breakfast is always very filling and so good..she even knows that I like my sausage extra done !

I loved staying at this B&B! I felt right at home. Jean, the hostess, was amazing! She is so interesting, smart and friendly. This beautiful B&B is in an excellent location, so close to the College of William & Mary. The home is very clean and lovely. I stayed in the Kings room which was incredibly spacious and comfortable, and so too was the private bathroom. The breakfasts were delicious and expertly prepared. Everything was just perfect.

We stayed at the Alice Person House B&B during College of William and Mary graduation weekend. First off, it is incredibly convenient to the University. Parking can be a problem on busy weekends around Williamsburg so this was perfect. The rooms were incredibly clean and the house very nicely appointed. Host Jean Matthews could not have been more gracious and she prepared wonderful breakfast meals. All in a delightful stay we highly recommend (book early).

I've stayed here two different times and during two different times of year. Wonderful location (close to College of William & Mary and historic Williamsburg area). Easy access to I-64 as well.||||Clean rooms and breakfast was always filling! Great conversation with other visitors. Private off street parking and a nice sitting area. ||||Ask about discounted rates if you are traveling solo (I went for business but realized that the B&B was cheaper than a hotel in the summer AND breakfast was included). Jean is very accommodating and has great recommendations for restaurants and activities.

My wife and I stayed with Jean for 5 nights. We were in the area for a triathlon and were the only guests, so Jean was very accommodating to our schedule. The house is clean and well-maintained. Jean also had suggestions on some sight-seeing as part of our trip. We enjoyed swimming at Jamestown Beach, riding at Chickahominy River Park on the Capital Trail, and driving the Capital Parkway from Jamestown to Yorktown -- where we split a sandwich and had a pint at the Yorktown Pub. Great coffee, nice breakfast, excellent conversation, and perfect location.
