low key experience without the awkwardness of a b&b, however it's pretty bare bones compared to a bigger hotel which was fine for me as all the amenities I could ever need are in the neighborhood. the big draw for me was the location (close to city hall, reading terminal, old town and south street.) I also appreciated the availability of small rooms which are perfect for the solo traveler. it's a beautiful historic building and the decor definitely fits that antique vibe. I'll definitely recommend to anyone especially if you're on the fence between the air b&b and a hotel experience.
The hotel is very close to the Reading Terminal Market, Jefferson Station, Convention Center & Magic Gardens - all within walking distance. Public transportation is easily accessible as well.
The breakfast was sufficient & convenient for guests that didn’t want to go out early.
The bed was comfortable & everything in the room was kept clean. Would have been nice to have a refrigerator & microwave inside the room. Wish the shower had a partition wall and not just a curtain.
Very clean
Staff was courteous, friendly, helpful, and accommodating.
I was booked here by a travel service and it exceeded my expectations. It is near Philly city center but far enough away to be a bit quieter. The room was small but just perfect for one person. The hotel was built in 1890's and remodeled in 1990's with med-century decor and attention to the historic architecture. Fast WiFi and a delightful view of a building mural. Kindly staff.
The hotel was beautiful! The staff were amazing and very friendly! The room was very clean and just beautiful! The breakfast was delicious! We’re going to stay there on a return trip because it was such a wonderful stay! We recommend this hotel to everyone who wants the convenience of staying right near restaurants and stores!
Walk into the hotel to fine woodwork a gas fireplace and friendly front desk staff. I choose the twin which was really cute and roomy. Nice sitting area for two, also a swing up half table, plenty of storage. Lite breakfast included in dinning lounge (or take up to room) was just enough. Great location for anything in downtown Philly area, can walk to most places. Especially close to Pennsylvania Hospital and Jefferson University/Hospital. Looking forward to staying again!!
I booked a queen room with city view. Was upgraded to a king upon check in, great! Not great: the view was an apartment building. The bed was so hard and stiff that we woke up sore and not well rested. The room was so stifling hot that we had to use the window AC unit - in December. The room was not well cleaned. There was a long stray black hair in the sheets (I am blonde.) the tv remote was crusty and the bathroom looked like it was quickly wiped down. No refrigerator in the room was also an inconvenience. Overall not impressed.
Stay here if you like history and free wine! The rooms are small and don’t feel big and modern, which is what I liked! Great neighborhood. Easy to DoorDash if you need a quiet night in. I loved my stay.
We stayed at the Alexander Inn for the second time and were not disappointed. The standard Queen room was tiny but cozy and contained everything needed for our comfort. The happy hour drinks were a welcome touch in the afternoon, and we enjoyed the continental plus breakfast in the morning and the friendly service. The location cannot be beat.
A unique hotel with history and a very nice decor to enhance any stay while traveling. We stayed there for a couple days during the New Year's Holiday and had a wonderful experience. Great location in the middle of the city, safe and close to everyth

A must stop if you are in Philly!!! Kevin's creations are incredibly delicious. Put down the cheese steak and go grab some tasty vegan, gf and dairy free options. Dessert=a meal. Back-to-back visits made us super fans!!! Pls open up a place in J-
Coffee here was amazing! The iced latte was great! The black coffee was something else! So fruity and aromatic - truly a great experience! Very much recommended getting their beans too!
Joined on a student membership for the summer and really enjoyed my experience. All the trainers were highly knowledgeable (and incredibly athletic) and made sure everyone felt welcome in the gym. When I was dealing with a shoulder injury, they were
