Alchemy Aqua Vitae - Cocktail bar in Lincoln - 140 N 8th St, USA

Was excited to try this place out! I'd had a rough postpartum and was so excited to finally get out and enjoy my first night out after having my baby, but because we had him with us, we were turned away. We came to enjoy time with coworkers and our son was asleep in his car seat. Every other place in the haymarket has allowed us to bring him, so this was odd and honestly rude to first time new parents. It was my first and last experience here. I should add that we were there for 45 minutes before we were asked to leave and refused service.

Their website and Google says they close at 1. We (a group of six) arrived at 11:55 and proceeded to sit down. A woman approached us and said they had closed and already called last call. I, obviously shocked, said “it says one online.” She told me when it’s slow they close early. I just want to share this review because anyone planning on visiting should be aware of the false advertising. My parents were in town, it was their last night, and they were eager to come and try the butter beer so it was super disappointing.

This is a great spot to visit at least once just for the atmosphere. The lush leather chairs and sofas give it a luxurious private club feel (imagine classy men in suits smoking cigars and drinking whiskey type of feel.) There are many interesting drinks, but they are a bit pricey so I don't go very often. The service can be a bit slow, but that may be in an effort to maintain the relaxed atmosphere and the complicated drinks are obviously going to take longer to make.

Alchemy’s attention to detail and their innovative drinks bring mixology to an art form. My favorite drink here is the Mahalo, but they also make a really really good chocolate Manhattan. Favorite place in the Haymarket to hang out with friends.

Very tasty, hip, and well-crafted drinks. Atmosphere is beautiful and fairly quiet -could talk and hear each other - very dark, stained glass, and "harry potter-esch". Loved the song selections as well.

This place is downright cool. It's very dark and moody, and the decor makes you feel like you stepped into an old apothecary. The drinks were phenomenal. They had so many interesting cocktails and flavor pairings, it's worth going again and again just to make sure you try all of their wonderful drinks!

First time visit to Alchemy. Loved it and will definitely return. The drinks were perfection!

I've been going here periodically for a few years with my friends, and they always have such wonderfully crafted and unique drinks. The atmosphere is also something special, with the stained glass windows and dim lighting. It's like something out of a fantasy. I wanted to leave a positive review more specifically for my most experience. I inquired about non-alcoholic options, and the bartender was quick to create something based off of my preferences, and it was so good! I really appreciated the accomodation so I could still enjoy a special drink with my friends. Thank you for the excellent service, and this place will continue to be one of our top favorites to visit!
