Al & Sally's Motel - Featured Reviews (95)
If you have any nostalgia for the motel era from the 70s and 80s, before the big box hotel chains wiped most of them out, then you will love staying here. It’s an old motel that has been updated with fresh interiors. People complain about the pool, not being done, but really who cares. There’s a gigantic lake nearby. Overall, everything about this is very pleasant and enjoyable and relaxing, mixing a little nostalgia with a modern touch. Don’t hesitate to stay here. Prices are great. Location is good.
Wow! What a spectacular place.... Straight from the 1950's, except in brand new condition. Spotless!!!.. And I can be a harsh critic! Just a 3 minute drive from the Beverly Shores South Shore Line station with plenty of free parking. Easy and cheap 1 hr train ride to Chicago.... Without any of the traffic. Located practically in the Indiana Shores National Park... Very close to lake Michigan beaches. Not to be missed! Contactless check in... Great service from Deana. Recommended! I'll be back!
Great, clean, and affordable option near Indiana Dunes/Michigan City. My husband and I were looking for a one night stay for a wedding in the area. I had great communication with the motel before and during our stay. The room (a single Queen) had a good sized table, small fridge, and plenty of space for the two of us to feel comfortable. There was just the right amount of vintage charm with modern comforts. I would stay here again!
My fiance and I stayed here for a weekend away before our wedding coming up at the end of the month. It was a great place to stay and then our room was adorable! About halfway between the park and local dining! We didn’t bring our dog but loved how pet friendly it was so we will definitely be back someday!
Our experience here exceeded our expectations! The room was adorable and quaint, yet big enough to fit our crew! The location is fantastic, being away from the hustle and bustle, but close enough that you can get anywhere you might need to in under 15 minutes! Close to the dunes beaches, restaurants, stores. When we were done adventuring, we enjoyed sitting by the fire making smores and watching a movie with sweets. Everything was really clean and the staff were very kind and accommodating! We'll definitely be back!
The room was very clean, the AC worked great, and I’m happy there was a fridge AND a microwave. Most places will skip the microwave. My only complaint was the bed was pretty uncomfortable. I’m a side sleeper and it was almost impossible to get comfortable.
This place is a scam. There are zero amenities. No pool of course. Defective air conditioner cannot maintain room temperature. This we were informed of in a text. It said Room temperature cannot be maintained. A nasty looking area behind the motel with some old swings. The designated smoking area was right outside my room. The text from motel staff said do not leave your door open. I know why. Smoke will come in.No on-site staff. They just come once per day. When we arrived at the motel the room was not going to be ready for at least 1 and a half hours after check in time. The last straw was when she told us there was no ice machine. We informed the person we would not be staying and to cancel. Al & Sally's is trying to charge my credit card the full price of the stay $718 plus an additional $250 for possible incidentals. Stay away from this place. It is terrible and the staff person is confrontational. I have texts and e-mails to verify.
This place appealed as a cute, upgraded retro roadside motel. We booked on Booking.com but on arrival the office was closed. We phoned a number on the door and were told that in fact there were no clean rooms available. Management needs to get their act together and do a better job communicating with their online vendors re: room availability. It was stressful to scramble for alternate accommodations after a nine hour drive.
I was quite surprised to see such a well stocked and organized record shop in Michigan City. My son even remarked how easy it was to find what he was looking for. I found a great selection of punk, hardcore, indie, alternative, and pop albums. My onl

"Welcome to Saigon" - that was our official welcome when our attentive server discovered this was our first visit. Service was very good, and we enjoyed the time there, not rushed or constantly being asked or prodded. Perfect for us. The meals were
Dr Hollingsworth has been my doctor for many years. There was a period of time when she relocated so I had to find another doctor. The moment I heard she was back in MC I made an appointment. She remembers everything and I believe she genuinely cares
Beautiful scenic spot! If you plan on parking here, pay the fees in advance. There are rangers or attendants waking around and checking for permits. Restroom was opened and clean.
The lady, Paula at the desk was awesome!! She was knowledgeable about the beds and products and after talkingabout my skin helped me know what bed was best for me!! I'll definitely be going back
Amazing cuts of meat with quality through the roof! Anything but a 5 star review would be a travesty. My family and I go to Langeâs Meat because of the friendly service and spectacular cuts of meat. Karl is usually there when we go and he is over t
