I visited in September of 2023 to enjoy the city (of Philadelphia, PA USA) for my Birthday Week. The accommodations and hospitality were top notch. The chef/innkeeper went out of their way to cater to our needs. Enjoy the city I did…||The room was lovely as well and it’s in a quaint neighborhood with even a few parking spots that can be reserved.||On a side note, it was the third year in a row visiting Akwaaba Properties for a Birthday Tradition. All were great and the food was as well. I went to Brooklyn and Noble Lane the two years before and my stays there were outstanding.

La Joya, our innkeeper called to check in prior to our stay to review dietary restrictions and the check in process. It was easy to get to the inn from New Jersey. The check in process was very easy. La Joya gave a tour and reviewed the property. It was very quiet during our stay. The bed was comfortable, rooms were clean, and it was very easy to get into the property with the key code. The breakfast was delicious and the refreshments were great. We will definitely be coming back again in the future.

My husband and I booked our first solo trip (without our children) in 4 years and chose this Bed and Breakfast in Philadelphia for the weekend. My husband has never stayed at a BnB before and did not know what to expect, he was pleasantly surprised. |We had planned to arrive at 2 pm, however ran into some last minute delays and it snowballed from there, traffic, restroom stop, etc. When we finally arrived around 5:00pm, La Joya was there to greet us, give us a quick tour of the house and some details before we went to our room. |We stayed in the Blue Note room with an amazingly comfortable king bed, full bathroom, kitchenette and fire place. The room and house were very quiet and in a great location.|After we settled in we weren’t sure about a place for dinner, she recommended Bookers and it was perfect! We had a great parking spot right in front of the house, so we decided to Uber but, street parking was not a problem the entire weekend. |There was a list of local black owned restaurants, local take out menus and suggestions for activities in Philadelphia.|The breakfasts were amazing!! Egg frittata with accoutrements one morning and a delicious French toast and turkey bacon the next. The Fresh juice and hot coffee were also very tasty! |We had no complaints whatsoever, we highly recommend Akwaaba! We look forward to attending other locations! |Thank you so much for the wonderful weekend away!

What a cute place in a quiet area of Philadelphia!! My family and I booked 2 rooms in this lovely B&B. The place itself was very nice, breakfasts were delicious, hostess Alesha was great. I will definitely return here. Parking was available on the street for free. It was conveniently located close to the university campuses.

Akwaaba did not disappoint! Every aspect of our experience was stellar. This team is definitely operating in its strengths. The property is lovely, the food is delicious, the energy is positive, and the ambiance is soothing! The amenities are on point, the area has many interesting activities and restaurants. We're looking for another opportunity to join them here and at the other locations!

My husband and I came to Akwaaba Philly for the first time Labor Day weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We took the Amtrak train which was a quick 1hr ride from Baltimore. Additionally, it was a quick 10 minute Uber ride to the B&B. The place was so quaint with so much charm and character. The inn keeper La Joya took such good care of us the entire weekend. Our daily breakfast was delicious! Every day we got a different option which was wonderful. We stayed in the Blue Note because our 1st choice was not available. The room was nice and suites our needs. I do think there could have been more decor related to Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes though. Lastly, the location was perfect as we were able to walk to a lot of the attractions we were interested in. We will definitely be back!

The hostess is very kind, the food is delicious and the home is gorgeous. If you love architecture and classic dental molding, solid wood built ins, coffered ceilings and 6+ inch crown, you will love just staring at the walls. Our bed was soft and the room nicely cooled for a warm summer day. My husband celebrated our anniversary and were not disappointed.

Ayesha is a wonderful Inn Keeper. The place was so comfortable and the mansion is near everything! The breakfast was wonderful. We really enjoyed the home away from home. This is a black owned business that we can really be proud of.
