A nice restaurant and an excellent choice for parents with princesses This is the restaurant in the Disney EPCOT park located in the Norway section. It is on the East side of the World Showcase Lagoon. I wanted to see the Candlelight processional and bought a package deal that included a meal at this restaurant. This is one of the places that I have never tried in all of my visits to this park. We had reservations and it is best to make them before you get there to ensure you can get in as this is a popular place for parents with princesses. You check in at the entrance to the Location. They will call you forward and escort you in when your table is ready. The restaurant is styled after a castle with large rooms with about 6 tables in each room. The cost is high ($67/person) and the food is Ikea-like with meatballs, salmon, chicken, and dumplings. The waitress was nice. The food was acceptable. The real draw for this was that the Disney Princesses come into your room and visit EVERY table. So if you have kids that want to meet their idols, take pictures, and interact with them, this is YOUR place. Every princess visited every table. They were dressed beautifully and stayed in character the entire time. Highly recommend it for parents with princesses.
What a wonderful surprise! A fantastic meal and a great time. I admit to being a little nervous about the menu (especially with a sorta picky kid). Some of the dishes sounded exotic and hard to imagine in advance, but whew! Everything was so so good! So good that I forgot to take pictures of the mains or dessert! So, only a picture of the appetizer and a cocktail, sorry. In addition to the great food, there are PRINCESSES! 5 of them! And they can vary. We got to meet Aurora, Belle, Snow White, Tiana and Ariel. The food was served family style and all you care to enjoy. Pictured are the Field Greens Salad with Lingonberry Vinaigrette and Lefse with Cardamom-Cinnamon Butter and a Blue Viking Cocktail. Other highlights are the Salmon with Herbed Butter, Traditional KjØttkake: Norwegian Meatballs, the Green Beans and the Red Cabbage. Be careful of the lights, they can mess with your camera.
Average run of the mill typical breakfast fare. Good selection of pastries, fruit, and Norweign style waffles. Princesses arrive one at a time with the sound of a trumpet and mingle at all the tables. Was disappointed in the cheesy potato casserole but enjoyed the scrambled eggs and waffles. Also enjoyed the chocolat filled pastry. Purchased this reservation to secure a spot at the Candlelight processional. Upcharge was at least $16.00 on top of buffet pricing plus tax. Food isn't worth it for this much money, however, the reservation did pay off later as we were able to enter the processional without an extensive wait. Mediocre at best. Great service and beautiul atmosphere in a Norway castle. Met 3 princesses so I'm at least content with my visit.
We felt very lucky to snatch last minute reservations as we were trying for a couple of months! The character experience was amazing for the kids. It saved us hours of waiting in line ups for the princesses to show up at their posts outside so it was worth every penny. The food was OK. I felt they could maybe give us choices to pick from it would have been better. Especially for the kids, since there were most items they did not eat. Our group was larger (7) and while some of us enjoyed most items, others ate very little.
This is a must for any trip to Epcot. As with all things Disney, the atmosphere is magical and the food is amazing. It’s a little on the pricey side but was honestly worth it. Food is served family style and there is a variety to choose from. The meal starts with a bread and salad course. The main is all you can eat meatballs/mashed potatoes, mini corn dogs, mac and cheese, green beans, and salmon. Then there is rice pudding and chocolate mousse for dessert. Five princesses make their way around to each table for a brief visit and photo opportunities. The end of the meal, the princesses promenade around the dining area a final time before seeing themselves out. There is so much attention to detail and it was just such a charming experience.
If you ever yearn for a spellbinding blend of authentic Norwegian fare and comforting culinary classics in the heart of Disney, prepare to be enchanted by this haven. Here, the banquet is plentiful and serves as a bountiful testament to satisfaction, with each dish crafted to delight. The meatballs and mashed potatoes in particular, cast a gastronomic spell of their own, evoking an echo of homely comfort. A sprinkle of fairy-tale magic is added to the dining experience as our daughters were greeted by the gracious presence of four Disney Princesses, each more graceful than the last. The splendor might seem slightly princely, but the priceless glow of joy it ignited in our girls' eyes affirmed that it was worth every enchanted coin. As for the sweet finale, the dessert was a delightful cascade of decadence. Our server, a native of Norway - as are all their servers - spun a personal tale as delicious as the rice pudding we savored. The story carried us to festive gatherings in her homeland, where this creamy delicacy is a cherished tradition. The evening thus wove together taste and tales, whisking us off on a magical journey in the heart of Disney.
Akershus is worth every penny! It’s located in the Norway area of Epcot and offers a family style meal where you meet 5 princesses. The meal is worth the time it saves from waiting in line at the parks to meet each Princess. We were able to get a next day reservation for a late dinner. We were seated quickly after checking in and greeted by our server, Julie. She took great care of us and we enjoyed talking with her about her experience in the DCP. We advised her of food allergies and she notified the chef and assured us that the items were free from our allergens. Soft drinks are included in the cost and alcohol and specialty drinks are an additional cost. First course is salad and a crepe with cinnamon butter. The second course consists of salmon, meatballs, chicken and dumplings, mini corn dogs, Mac n cheese, green beans, mashed potatoes, and cabbage. Dessert was a chocolate cake and riced pudding. All of the food was delicious and you are able to order more of anything that you’d like. The serving was more than enough for 4 of us - 2 teens and 2 adults so we didn’t need to order more of anything. Th princesses make their way to each table while you’re eating so there is no need to get up. Each princess interacted with us, talking for a bit, posing for photos, and signing our souvenirs. We met Ariel, Belle, Tiana, Jasmine, and Snow White. Bottom Line - This is a great way to meet 5 princesses in approximately an hour while getting a flavorful meal in air conditioning.
A royal all-you-can-eat feast with 5 princesses that walk around, mingle with the kids and take photos. You are definitely paying for the princess interaction, as the food is average. The Blue Viking cocktail was better than expected. More bang for you liquor buck than the others, as it tastes like a long Island iced tea. This is a one and done for us, but worth a visit if you have small ones who adore princesses.
