We love the train museum! My son wants to go every single day! There is a cute little train table for the kids to play with. They may turn on the bigger trains for you as well. We never have a bad time when we come!
great visit and very fun to read and do scavenger hunts. only 4 stars because they have actual trains but they're not open to the public (boo) otherwise a fantastic day trip (and free!!!!)
Fascinating for children and adults. The festival of trees is amazing and you are asked to vote on the one you like best.
Spent some time wandering in Aiken, SC yesterday. They were closed when I arrived, but I did take some memory pics. The outside is well maintained with beautiful flowers surrounding. Across the street is the little train depot, great place for photos and meet ups. They do have train that take visitors around to see some of the sites. Check the schedule online for more details. Seem to be a very cool interactive place for kids. I will update once I actually go inside. I recommend to start your tour here for inside tips from the locals.
Good history if you want to read about it, but the displays didn't have sound or were so old! Nice lady working the desk. Homeless man asleep outside (out back)with his teens playing music from their phones.
Very interesting. There were dioramas set up for each town along the railway. No cost to visit.
Great place to learn about some of the history of Aiken and of course, trains. Friendly staff, and activities for kids. I've been several times and the kids always enjoy it. Unfortunately I've not been able to see the model train run, every time I go they have "electrical issues" that keep the model trains from running upstairs. There is another one downstairs that works and is fun to watch. Can't wait to see real train cars outside, they have been restoring them for a few years, should be nice when they are finished.
It's a great little spot to visit for a couple of hours. There's a small play area for Littles with lots of train books. Staff is welcoming and wonderful. The tain cars are not for exploring which leaves much to be desired.
Our volunteer tour guide, Jim was so passionate, engaging, and informative. As people who moved here from out of town, it was super interesting and fun to visit would definitely recommend.
What a fantastic addition to town!! This place is great for all ages. They have classic video games and a ton of pinball machines. So many to choose from. The pricing is great for the hour or an âall day kind of passâ. The establishment is clean
