It was a huge opportunity for my family and I to visit this museum. The space is filled with so much history and historical information. I’m am happy to see the work being done to commemorate black history. Overall a great work of art and a memorable experience to have visited this museum. I feel like this is a place where you could visit several times and draw various inspirations from each visit. The green room is a must see …

I haven't been here in years and was glad to be able to revisit and see the changes. Very informative with a lot of pictures and some interactive exhibits but I would have liked to see more artifacts like dishes, clothing, utensils used during slavery time. Nice experience with 3 floors to explore. The Breyonna Taylor exhibit was great!!

I really enjoyed the African American Museum in Philadelphia. The permanent exhibit "Audacious Freedom" was interesting and informative. I also liked the special exhibit, "Rising Sun..." which displayed a lot of interesting and thought provoking artwork.

Wow! Amazing museum. So much knowledge shared with great visuals and interactive experiences. The museum contains 3 floors with lots of information in an smooth presentation. In total, about an hour to go through the museum. Plenty of street parking and a parking garage. Museum staff is very welcoming as well. Tickets may be purchased in person for $14 for adults. Very inexpensive for a great experience!

It’s always a piece of love an admiration for African American History when visiting. They have been around since my elementary schools days and till this day , I now have my next generation of family visiting . You get to see past and present art and culture , and as always it’s FREE admission but they do accept donations . Be sure to check out their events that they have to help educate and entertain those in the community that they serve.

This museum exhibition was very knowledgeable, the staff was very friendly. Learned allot with the young daughter. Great place to take the kids for their own understanding. The gift shop is quaint but nice. Will go there fir future exhibitions.

Great smaller African American museum with a focus on the arts. My favorite was the film in the orange room. I watched it twice!

Duration: 15min - 1 hour Parking: multiple parking garages in the surrounding area Attraction: a small Museum split across four exhibits. The first exhibit is very nicely well done with lots of graphics however there is a hodgepodge of information in tiny font packed in well simultaneously there is audio speaking throughout the room making it very challenging to concentrate The second exhibit is a series of filmed actors who answer three different prompts. It is well done however when multiple are playing at the same time it's overwhelming The last two exhibits are paintings and photographs I think most people spend a long time here because they paid a lot of money and feel obligated to make the most out of it. I have visited hundreds of museums around the world and got free admission to this Museum and was in and out in about 15 minutes. Overall: I would not recommend. There are far better museums in Philadelphia or if you're interested in African-American history and particular it is well worth the drive down to DC for a good quality free museum Rating: 2 stars for the quality and price of the museum relative to other museums in the Philadelphia area. +1 star for requiring masks

Overall I would say the visit was worth the.l price, but evidently I went on a day when there was a medical student symposium which just made the rather small museum all the more crowded. For me the skull collection display was the most interesting p
