African American Museum and Library at Oakland - Museum in Oakland - 659 14th St, USA

I visited this museum and library in Oakland on November 4, 2023. It is around this time of the year that the Festival of the Black Dolls Show and Sale is on exhibit. The vendors have a beautiful selection of dolls on display and on sale. Also there are arts & crafts for children, and a vendor selling plates of soul food and desserts.

This exhibit was AMAZING! I didn't even know this existed. A wonderful, insightful experience.

Amazing exhibits and very friendly staff. There are some special events. Though small, the exhibits emphasize the important people and events who have been overlooked in Oakland's history. A+

Had the best time there. Truly an experience worth repeating. So much culture, richness, preserved history, and community to be absorbed. Absolutely the best stop on my vacation tour thus far.

Been in Oakland 46 yrs and had never been inside. It is an AMAZING place. Its a must see. Take your children. An emotional place with so much HISTORY!

It is very well organized and a treasure of historical information. Both floors must be experienced to absorb your visit. A must-see.

Very unique exhibit. Bought the VIP experience without reading the details. Showed up with my 15 year old son and was surprised to find out that the photographer was going to take us around and take photos of us. This was a really nice surprise and having someone capture those special moments made the experience unforgettable. The rooms of each exhibit are fantastic with lots of details.
