Affordable Suites Rocky Mount - Extended stay hotel in Rocky Mount - 1144 Independence Dr, USA

We stayed at this location in rocky mount for one night on our travels north. Our stay was great! Comfortable bed, clean sheets and brand new comforter, full size refrigerator and microwave, dishes and silverware. Sitting room with TV and bedroom with TV. Bathroom was clean with nice towels. Darren, at the front desk, was very helpful in booking and pleasant when we met him in person! Other guests were very friendly and very quiet! Well lit area!

Very large room, Kitchenette with Sink, Large Fridge, Coffee and Microwave. Met our needs, Clean and reasonably quiet. No after hours room assistance. ONLY complaint is that Smoking should be restricted and enforced to area away from apartment entrances (not allowed right outside apartment door).

So much to say, so little time. Firstly, if I was rating this against a more expensive motel, like a Comfort Inn, it would be two or three stars. However, the nightly rate here was around $70 for a one week stay, so I will be taking that into consideration. The room was a pleasant surprise because it was very spacious. The layout was such that you walk in to what feels like a little living room with a decent strip of kitchen with everything you'd expect: refrigerator, sink, oven, stove and microwave. They supplied a coffee maker and enough coffee to get you going for the morning. They also had dish soap. I had to go out and buy kitchen towels because I did cook a bit. There was also a small amount of paper towel left for us. There was a hallway with a good sized bathroom followed by a spacious bedroom with a dresser, closet with hangers and 1 night table. There was also an ironing board. The couch in our particular room did not have a pull out. They do have pull out couch rooms available. There were absolutely plenty of outlets, which I loved. They gave a good amount of towels and they were nice quality. I thought the lighting was very good. Everything was in decent enough condition and my only disappointment was that some items were not cleaned very well, but it was easy to overlook at that price. I was surprised that after our first day there we did not see housekeeping again for a few days. I didn't really need them every day, but it would have been nice to know what their schedule was. If it was given to us somewhere I never did see it and that would be on me because I did not get a chance to read the documents before my husband signed and turned them in. The reason I took a star away was that our keys kept failing us. This is really distressing when you think you're getting into your room when it's really cold and rainy outside and you're locked out and there's nobody in the office because they leave at 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and they are not there on Sundays. Nobody answered the emergency number. I left a message and did not hear back for an hour. Luckily, my husband called and did get someone and they came immediately. However this happened to us twice during our one week's day. It got to the point where we were reluctant to leave the room if we really, really needed to get back into it, like the day we were leaving to get on a train that we did not want to miss. All that said, I thought it was an incredible value and the staff there was very nice. The housekeeping staff were lovely and I appreciated them.

Rooms were nice, to problem there, night time activity was the problem, knocking on doors all night, fights outside all night, loud talking running up and down stairs all night, no management on site, just not a family oriented place to stay, price is not what they advertise it is higher when you get final bill

Family stay (not teens but adult son). Nice layout with bedroom area in the back (no door) . Kitchen with stove, sink, apartment size fridge (but it was freezing some of our food), and equipped with basic utensils, dishes, etc. Great location...near Walmart, Planet Fitness, Christ Fellowship Church (is an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church with friendly folks). Room shows aging and a fair amount of stains on floors. Not great water pressure in shower. Had sleeper sofa and table/chairs in living area. Worked well for 3 people. Room keys kept failing and had to be replaced. Reasonable price. No breakfast. Friendly staff. Would stay again.

As frequent travelers, we have experienced the usual ups and downs of various hotel chains. ||||About two years ago we booked this hotel and had a “terrible” one star experience. We were convinced by the many many positive reviews to try it again for two nights this week. ||||Our five star experience began with the clear and complete communication from Manager Steve within one day after booking. ||||The communication continued and was customized as we expressed our priorities and needs ie we mentioned we were coming in after the office closed and he offered to leave a brochure in our room with a list of restaurants if we needed dinner. ||||Because of the hours of the office, there are some self check in steps you have to take and those were explained and supported with reminder calls so we wouldn’t have any problems ||||The suite was generous in size and wonderfully clean. The pictures posted by other reviewers accurately show you the suite we were in. The price very reasonable. ||||Friendly helpful staff, generous sized suites, immaculately clean rooms, comfortable beds, no bugs, reasonable rates, easy load and unloading access- We look forward to staying there again. ||||Note: lots reviews talk about a rude woman in the office who customers interacted with. Two years ago, we did too and she was awful. When asked, the current manager explained she no longer works for the hotel and has moved on.

We stayed here overnight with our dog. Everything was very clean. Room had no odor, even though it was a designated pet room. Price was 40% less than the other hotels for a Saturday. I called to book as online said 2 night stay min. Manager was very accommodating and it was no problem to stay one night. Furniture was older and could use an update, but mattress was very comfortable. Room was dimly lit and could have used brighter bulbs or more lights with a charging station on the nightstand for our phones. TVs were very small for the size of the rooms, not smart TVs so no streaming. A TV guide with channels would have been helpful and the TV in the bedroom had no remote, so we had to change channels manually on the bottom of the TV set. AC was excellent. All rooms had individual units outside the windows on the bottom floor. Large fridge and full freezer was helpful. Bathroom was clean, although there was no vanity to put your stuff on, just a sink. No dog bags, so please bring your own so that property remains clean. A five minute drive to Olive Garden and other popular chain restaurants. Overall, a no frills, clean, reasonably priced place to stay with your pup. We would stay again. Many thanks.

To be honest,I was a little apprehensive at first due to the price. And it being somewhat of a residence Inn.And before I knew about the “niche” style, when I called and Nick told us if we couldn’t get there by 7 he would run our info and leave the keys and a copy of the contract in the box outside the office. Upon arrival at the office (10 minutes early) we were greeted by Nick- the on-site manager- and were well taken care of he was able to accommodate us with our requests, I needed a first floor due to recent surgery. He explained everything to us and we actually locked the office door on the way out to our room, it was 7pm when we finished the paperwork. When we got there I can only say wow, it exceeded any expectations I had for sure! It was clean and very spacious actually two rooms both big enough to be a studio apt.s.Everything needed to be there was there except food. Utensils, plates , pots and pans. Even paper towels and dish soap. The furnishings are somewhat dated but comfortable nonetheless. Central air for each room so no loud, obnoxious window unit working all night, just like being at home. I would recommend staying here not only for the price but the total package.
