Don’t shoot the messenger but this place is just OVR NASTY ! booked a room for one night only. And only could Stay a few hours cause I happened to book a room where a family just moved out of from staying a week plus and leaving it dirty with bedbugs used towels old soap it was no clean towels to wash up with only 1 little drying towel the couch bed didn’t have any covers mind you that’s where the bedbugs were at !!! It was also flies and fruit flies in the room blood on the covers mattress suppose to be white but look brown also i couldn’t book another room and had to be out at 3am in the morning because the front desk close at 11pm what hotel front desk closed at 11pm ? Came back the next morning the employee and manager treated me as is I was staying there for free I asked to speak to a supervisor and he only offered 20% off another room and said it’s nothing else they could do and it also feel like it’s always somebody watching you DO NOT BOOK HERE EVEN IF ITS AN EMERGENCY IT NEED TO BE INSPECTED AND SHUT DOWN ASAP all of this is no exaggeration I have video proof of everything First Experience 0/10 oh yeah it’s a 100$ dollar deposit on card and 200$ deposit in cash
My partner & I booked a 2 month stay at this hotel because it's the cheapest long term stay hotel in the metro Detroit area that allows cats, has dishwashers in the rooms, & has doors between the bed & living area. As advertised, our room does in fact have a dishwasher & doors between the bed & living area. That's the only good thing I can say about it. The bad: -The room reeks of cigarettes. Not "some smoke came in the window that was left open" level, "this was definitely a smoking room when those still existed & it hasn't been cleaned since then" level. Yes, I know they banned smoking inside business in Michigan in 2010. I said what I said. -As I said above, the room looks like it hasn't been cleaned for 14 years. Aside from the smell, every single hard surface in the room is either sticky, dusty or sticky AND dusty. Not just the counters, tables & tiled parts of the floors, but also the insides of the cabinets & drawers, the wire shelving in the bathroom, even the lamps. Somebody actually wiped snot on the base of one of the bedside lamps, which I found when I went to turn it on in the dark. There are visible chunks of dust on the drapes, on the vents, in the recessed lighting, & on the popcorn ceiling. The carpet is sticky & so filthy that walking barefoot leaves brown sticky stains on the soles of my feet. The upholstery on the furniture is stained & greasy. There was trash from previous occupants left under the bed & behind the dresser. -How's the room aside from the filth? Dire. The door to the hallway does not shut unless you slam it. There's a big tear in the carpet AND a melted spot where it looks like someone set a hot pan on the floor. The light fixture in the fan is broken - the actual glass dome is broken, AND it doesn't turn on. The fridge looks like the same one my parents had in 1985, faux wood grain door handle & everything. The shelf in the freezer is missing, & it keeps making intermittent loud sounds, like it's trying to make ice, even though all that's left of the ice maker is some wires coming out of the back of the freezer. There's a board missing (Google says it's called a "Toe Kick") from the bottom of the cabinet under the kitchenette sink. The kitchen cabinets and drawers are sticky & hard to open. Once you get the drawers open, they aren't held up by anything, so they practically fall out. What we found in the cabinets: 3 coffee cups, 3 glasses, 1 small bowl, 6 small plates, 3 large plates (2 of which are unusable due to the huge chips in them), 2 plastic 4oz food service tubs with lids, 1 aluminum pot with no lid, & 1 nonstick frying pan with most of the nonstick coating scrubbed off. The thermostat is rigged so that the AC can't be set below 68F. I guarantee that the AC filter hasn't been changed or cleaned in ages, but I can't even check because the air handler is behind a locked door. ALL of the window screens have holes in them. Most of them are large enough that a cat could escape through them. The sinks barely have water pressure. The kitchenette sink leaks. Either there is no bathroom vent fan, or it's broken. There are cigarette ash scars on the toilet seat. The shower in our room is fine, but whenever the folks upstairs use theirs, water drips through the light fixture into our tub. You can also hear every single step from upstairs & hear the mattress creak every time they turn over in bed. As for the facilities: -The pool is closed. We're already halfway through June. Will it ever open? Who knows. -Front desk lied & told us there were two dumpsters. There are not. There's one. -I haven't seen the laundry room yet. I'm not sure I want to. -There's designated smoking areas, but people just smoke wherever, including in the stairwells. When I saw the signs at the front desk that state there are no refunds for partial stays, I should have demanded to see the room we would be staying in, because I would *not* have paid several thousand dollars to live in this dump for two months, had I had any clue what it was going to be like.
I booked this room based off the pictures online, and boy was I deceived, it was dirty and grimey. Broken furniture in rooms, the bath tubs are so old they dont come clean couch and chair in living room were so old and dirty i would not even sit on them, they havent been cleaned since hotel was built im sure of it. Everything smelled bad the room the hallways the elevator, there was trash stacked up in hallways, people propping doors open with items. the mattress on the pull out bed was disgusting and should be against the law to let someone occupy the way it looked
We came to town for the 2024 NFL Draft. You'd think since they were expecting several guests from out of town, they would go overboard cleaning. Not the case! The room smelled bad, like cigarettes and other bad smells. The floors were dirty. Checked under the matress for bugs, and were none, however there was lots of crummies left behind from past guests and some pink sticky stuff like candy. The Toilet Paper roll was hanging off the wall. Also hair in the sink and shower. As for their Fintess Center (EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT either did NOT work or would stop on it's own after using it for a few minutes. Don't even bother trying to work out. The lady at the front desk was friendly though. If at all possible try to find another place to stay. My friend bought the room, so guess I can't complain, but I just want to warn you!
I must say the stay at affordable suites was an amazing experience for me, the service was amazing and the room was clean and comfortable. The manager Sam was beyond gracious, understanding and fair he went above and beyond to provide excellent service because of that I plan to continue my stay at the affordable suites. I’m a very satisfied customer!
This place is amazing!!! Me and my wife moved here end of November from Red Roof and have had nothing but kindness from all the staff. Peggy the housekeeper is one of our favorites. She always asking if we need anything and always so kind. We love the front desk staff. From Carol to Brittany to Sam and afternoon lady. These staff are amazing and wonderful people who truly care about your stay. Rooms are always clean fresh linen. No bugs whatsoever very very clean. A lot of these reviews that portray this as a filthy place are just as*******. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Kitchen is wonderful. Love the walk in bathroom. Pet friendly is a huge plus. Rooms are big and spacious.
As a first time guest , that need somewhere close to my job and decent and good area . I will say it was not bad at all. It’s crazy cause one of the reviews has my room number in it and it was not as bad as they describe. I was not trying to live here so it serve its purpose. Water was hot and bed was comfy. Room was not dirty and didn’t smell . I always bring my blanket so I don’t be wrap up like that on hotel sheets . Close to different stores and restaurants. There was slight noise of people but it was not to crazy ….they may want to add some bigger or more garbage cans around the property but beside that it was straight.
it’s roaches …. before we even walked in the door it was already someone trash waiting for us, but moved past it and it was nice at first but when you take your shoes off it’s crumbs everywhere like someone didn’t care to sweep or vacuum overall it’s terrible when you pull out the couch bed you literally don’t have no sheets, no pillows for the couch bed, microwave has stains in it, around the sink is just disgusting, went in the bathroom and it’s hair on the floor (remind you we just came in the room) and before i could even get in the shower i see a roach or whatever it is just crawl out … just disgusting… wouldn’t even recommend this place to my worst enemy.
