The restaurant and other attractions at the Aerie were nice. We did not ride the mountain coaster but it appears others enjoyed it. The views on the chair lift were awesome. We had a great dinner at the restaurant with good food, wine and great service. We were disappointed that they had just closed their winery where you could do tastings. We stayed in one of the cottages because that is what was left as available. We wouldn’t go back on stay in one again. The town below is fun with other wineries and pubs. The good out weighed the bad. I am sure the other accommodations are nice at the Aerie but can’t recommend the cottages.
We got a double bed with a Jacuzzi tub. Kids loved it. Room was nice. It has a lot of items that came with it, however most the complementary items were not there like the card said. Even though the winery/hotel is kid friendly there is no really kid friendly items to eat. Gets pretty loud at night when all the people are coming back. When they walk on the porch you can hear it all the way up the top. I didn't like you had to check in at the bottom the the main road before you got to the place.
We stayed at the landing, it was clean, but unimpressed. The next door room smoked out side our door and we could smell it, and had to walk through the smokers to get in and out of the room to the car. Alot of the area restaurants were not open late and we were turned away from two local places and almost a third at 8 pm because they were closing. The area is super cute for the daytime but if you are night person or looking for something a little more action oriented this is probably not the correct area, this is a slow down town.
A girls (5) trip for two nights, 3 days. We were anxious to leave early on the 3rd day. Poor kitchen, no dishwasher, oven didn't work properly. All rooms needed repairs. Worse part was the invasion of stink bugs in all our rooms.||||Great view, and Aeries Winery was very nice. That is all the good we can say. The place needed much work, Wifi was locked and office staff couldn't help us. We would definitely come back for the winery, but will never stay here again.
Stayed in 700 c. Room was nice, jacuzzi was old. Bed was comfortable. There were bugs and spiders in the bathroom but the room was otherwise clean. Price was kind of high for the room. Employees were friendly and the restaurant was good. The sky tram was broken which was very disappointing because we wanted to ride it. There is nothing to do in Grafton on a Friday afternoon, almost every shop was closed.
4 of us met in Grafton for a girls weekend. Winery looked fun! Room for 4 was clean but the prize was very high for the quality of the room/bed/furnishings, especially at a 2 night minimum! And you only get a pass for one vehicle, which meant we left the other vehicles in a random lot down on front street overnight as directed by Check-In staff. Then the room (for 4) only had 2 cups, 2 wine glasses, 2 cup coffee maker! The bathroom was clean but the shower head was broken and the TP was CHEAP! The view from the restaurant was beautiful, but I wouldn’t pay to stay overnight to see it again. Staff was very friendly…bringing my rating from a 2 to a 3.
We stayed in suite 700E, the room floors were not cleaned, I had to clean the tub myself! I was told we would have a wonderful view if you consider a large tree off the balcony a view, that was it! I will say we did enjoy our time which was spent away from the resort after being accosted by the owner within 15 mins of our arrival. We were just walking around the parking lot to see the view of the river, with NO intention of entering the winery with our beverages (We are civilized adults and would never work into any establishment with outside drinks) when he came out berating us for having outside beverages near the building! UMM ...hello we paid close to $200 per night, for a crappy bed that we could not sleep in comfortably and you are going to demean us? We decided from that moment on he would not get another penny from us! We ate every meal at other locations. I later found him at the bar that evening and mentioned there were about 15 people with outside beer bottles in the parking lot, he claimed he would take care of it..LOL NOPE, he sat at the bar and drank all night. Not sure if all of these folks were paying guest like us since they left the private gate open all eve, I assume in hopes to make more money at the winery during the fireworks. I am a business owner and I can tell you I would never treat paying customers like that. With that said we will never return here, not even on a day trip to enjoy the view with a glass of wine, he will never get another dime from us!
We stayed in Cabin 24, well we didn’t actually stay over night. We left upon coming back to the cabin after leaving the winery at 11pm. The best word to describe this cabin is “janky.” I’m fairly certain that everything was obtained for free from dumpsters, from the tiny 18” tv (which was a computer monitor with rabbit ears), to the beds, to the giant stained jacuzzi, to the gross faucets, to the kitchenette cabinets that did not fit the space, to the weird artwork, to the randomly pieced together trim. It had the feeling of a dirty gas station bathroom and as I stood looking around at all the things grossing me out, I asked if we could just leave and drive home. Which we did. It was not that housekeeping did a poor job, but that the quality of every single thing was completely sub-par. This would be the condition I would expect if I was renting a cabin in a third world country. And when I mentioned “showering” at the desk when checking in, the girl did not even mention that there was NO shower. It was a hand held sprayer that pulled out of the side of the yellowed jacuzzi tub. I guess the couldn’t find a shower head on their dumpster dives. We actually had a good laugh about that part. ||The winery and the new additions are so nice you would (as we certainly did) expect SO MUCH MORE. We spoke to the owners at the winery who were very nice and personable. I will never stay at this location again. We have stayed in some rental houses which were actually of livable condition so we will have to do that next time.
