Adventure Inn - Motel in Ely - 1145 E Sheridan St, USA

This is a reasonably priced local motel. There aren’t a lot of frills, but didn’t expect that. Rooms very clean—we had a handicapped accessible room. Small fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Beds were comfy. Table and chairs, so we got take out and ate several meals on site at the motel. Nice chairs to sit on outside on the cement patio area. This is my second stay, and would stay again. We had our two small dogs along, and they had a very low charge per night for pets. There is not breakfast or coffee in the lobby, which I had read somewhere in a review. Overall, very pleased with our stay. I talked with staff when booking, and they were very helpful in selecting an appropriate room for us.

Great place to stay. I got there early, and was allowed to check in. Motel has good selection of books to borrow. Less expensive than other hotels in town.

I've stayed here a few times, always great. Today I had to cancel a stay, but it was a bit after the 48hr window for free cancellation. Scott took care of it, got me a full refund, no problem at all. I really appreciate that kind of service!!! Bummer I had to cancel, but I'll absolutely be staying here again.

Clean, simple but very comfortable, “northwoodsy” decor. Lovely flower garden next to the parking lot with chairs to sit on and relax. Not in the center of the downtown area but easy walk/bike/ drive there. No-one at reception or services (by design) but there is a number to call if you need help or have questions. Coffee maker, fridge, & microwave in the room. Excellence freshly ground coffee across the street at the Holiday Station.

So far so good. The room is fresh and clean and updated for up north. Update: if u r sensitive to light you won't be able to sleep. The LEDs on the air conditioner are so bright they light up the whole room. Making sleep impossible.

The staff was very friendly. The rooms were ok. Small, but adequate for a night stay. HOWEVER, the ceilings are extremely thin! If you have a lower room, don't plan on getting any sleep. It sounds like a heard of elephants are having a party above you when your neighbors are moving around. The bedspreads were stained, bathroom was tiny, and the floors looked like they were vacuumed, but not well. Another person in our party had to switch rooms because of the smell of the cleaner they used. Not sure if it was to cover up a smell or what. The outside area is very cute and enjoyable to sit outside on their decks. It was close to Boundry Waters, which is what we needed. If we were stay here again, I would definitely get an upper room.

If your looking for a clean room with a comfortable bed, look no further. The staff and management are absolutely amazing, friendly, and helpful. Easy walk to local businesses and food.

Good communication when you have to check in late. I was put off by pet hair on the bedspread. Also if you're sensitive to artificial scents/ scented chemicals, it seems like some of that is used in cleaning, or covering up pet smells? Room seemed pretty clean overall minus the pet hair plastered on the bed. And mildew/ rotting wood at the bottom of the entry door frame. Not a big deal if you're not too sensitive to mold. A big deal for me personally, note that there is no ice machine on the premises for guests to use. I might stay here again but will request one of the non pet friendly rooms. Is probably not a bad place when you're just heading in or out of the boundary waters , especially with a pet.
