Terrible, absolutely the worst, stay away from this place. This property is unfit for guests, missing basic safety features like fire & carbon detectors, in addition to being filthy dirty.
They book guests at an alternative site as well, fairly confident it is not licensed to be an Inn and unsafe to do so.
I’ve now been twice. Stayed both times at the Admiral Farragut Inn. Beautifully appointed room, luxury bed and linens, jacuzzi tub. My breakfast was delicious and made-to-order. The innkeeper is so charming and full of stories about Newport. So helpful in arranging whatever we wanted to do. I love the area…the street was where they filmed some of an episode of Gilded Age, in the Historic District full of Revolutionary War Era homes. On-site parking is a huge plus and walking distance!
It’s in a great location, easy walking distance to a lot of downtown and the bay had a good stay there. People were friendly knowledgeable had the morning breakfast on one of the days I was there was able to get around easily to all the locations I wanted to see this to anyone.
We booked a block of about 15 rooms total with Rick of the Inns of Newport for a Newport wedding. Our group was split, with about half in the Cleveland House and half in The Admiral Farragut Inn. We had options for all with various size rooms and price points. Everyone was happy with their accommodations.||The location is perfect – the main downtown area of Newport is only a block away, and many other things are within easy walking distance. The historic rooms have character and are very well kept. Free parking and breakfast (which should be ordered the night before for the Admiral Farragut or is continental in The Cleveland House) is also included. The best thing about our stay, though, was Rick. He was wonderful to deal with and made everyone in our group feel they were the most important guest he was dealing with. The rest of the staff were also very friendly and helpful. ||If you are looking for a room in Newport with character, a great location, and thoughtful service, call Rick at the Inns of Newport. He’ll help you choose the room that is just right for you.
We loved our one night stay here! Rick was kind enough to upgrade our room to a larger one when it came available at a discounted rate. Him and the other woman working there were very kind and hospitable. Our room was clean and quaint, with a comfortable bed, hot shower, and adorable decorations. The location was perfect and within walking distance of the main strip of Newport and the water front. We’ll definitely be coming back again soon!
Charming rooms (think old-fashioned decor) in an historic house; great location on a quiet street a block from downtown. We picked it because they allow dogs, but would stay even without needing that. Free parking; made-to-order breakfast. This is an inn, not a super-modern luxury hotel, but that is exactly what we liked about it.
We had a wonderful stay at the Admiral Farragut!!! Rick was fantastic! He made sure our room was perfect, recommended the Bag of Doughnuts at The Mooring restaurant which were so so good, and made sure we had coffee before we left early on our departure day. The made to order breakfast was delicious & the waitress & cook were so nice!!! The Inn location is fantastic- can walk to everything. Rooms have so much character & history. Had a wonderful stay & thank you Rick for your hospitality & over the top service!!!
It was the great way to ruin our trip to Newport. ||I don’t know who admiral Ferragut was, but he definitely would be ashamed to have this hotel named after him. ||There were so many issues: first of all the price. For almost $600 we expected a refrigerator, a coffee machine, a table, good WiFi, enough place for clothes and suitcases in the room. ||It was absolutely horrible parking situation. All trip we were stress out about parking at the hotel. ||Quality of the included breakfast was good, but you supposed to ordered this the night before. And no one told us about it! ||They tried to compensate this with great customer service. Which was nice. Although location of the hotel was grate: walkable to the main attractions I won’t recommend anybody to stay in this hotel. !!!!!
