There are no strangers at Addis Paris, similar to owner Amy's hometown of Addis Ababa. Locals are neighbors and strangers are friends once they enter through the door of Addis Paris Cafe. Amy and her team remember faces and names and invite local musicians to play inside and artists to hang their art on the walls. Combining Paris and Addis Ababa (Amy's two homes) under one roof, the menu reflects that. Creps and tibs are side by side on the menu. Coffee, Ethiopian beer, juice, they have it all. Stopping in for lunch on a Friday around 11 a.m., I ordered an Ethiopian beer and the tibs. The beer is light and refreshing on a hot day. The tibs were superb! Amy makes them herself and wow- so good! They come with large pieces of gluten-free injera and a very good avocado and tomato salad. I'll crave this meal. Addis Paris is a gem in Mount Pleasant. Amy knows most neighbors and often feeds those experiencing homelessness. Amy is a D.C. legend.
Stopped by after the local farmers market since it had lots of great reviews. I went around lunch time and their cook was out due to an emergency so they had limited items available. I got their avocado toast which was good/decent but not $15 good especially since I could have made it at home for $3. The space was pretty dirty as well but it seemed like a local spot for the neighborhood with many people in and out of their outside patio.
A lovely neighborhood Cafe with luxurious ambitions. AddisParis presents itself as an unassuming hole in the wall but delivers an unlikely and delicious fusion of Ethiopian and French cuisine, flavors, and style. This hole in the wall has a dedicated community of regulars who are known to volunteer time behind the bar and take orders. Amy, the owner, has managed to build a community and makes an effort to speak with all patrons. Call ahead to order the tibs or swing by for brunch and good conversation.
I hate to give this place 2 stars for atmosphere - it's a really lovely community spot, has such a cool vibe, and the owners are incredible. I am rooting in every way for this cafe. However, every single time I come here, I have the same problem - I get absolutely swarmed by mosquitoes. They leave the windows in the cafe open, which would normally be awesome. However, the mosquitoes are so bad that I can't even sit comfortably for more than a few minutes. It's bad enough that I need to douse myself in bug spray to stand even a chance of finishing my drink in peace. The mosquito issue could be fixed just by adding a screen to the window and one of those fake magnetic screen door covers you can get for cheap online. The other issue is the prices. $17 for a basic Nutella crepe with some fruit gives me sticker shock. The food is solid, but even a side salad according to the menu is $19. It's out of sync with the neighborhood's general prices, out of sync with the mosquito issue and the ability to enjoy the food, and out of sync with the prices I'd expect to see in a cafe. I haven't had the Ethiopian food, but it seems fairly priced. If there's a good reason these prices are this way--like you pay everyone a living wage--please advertise this so people know! That would be a huge bonus. I never see many people here, so maybe other folks are having the same issue? Or maybe the mosquitoes just love my sweet sweet blood? I really want them to stay in business - but pleasepleaseplease address the mosquito issue
Addis Paris is one of these coffee shops where you just walk in and make new friends! The atmosphere is amazing and welcoming but what truly blew my mind was the amazing brunch food made by Chef Amy! Her sweet and savory crepes and French toasts are perfect for a fun weekend! If you are a meat lover, the keywot is the most popular dish served with injera AddisParis also has live bands, poetry nights, art nights and invites artists from around DC to share their art and passion! You can check out the instagram page addispariscafe for more updates on events happening throughout the week! Truly a gem in Mount Pleasant
Lovely atmosphere, servers were fine. Too bad the latte was lukewarm, chocolate croissant dry, salad greens dressed with oil and nothing else, and no butter for the bread. Scrambled eggs were decent, but not worth $18 they cost me. Give it a miss.
Awesome family-owned cafe with an unusual, but amazing fusion idea of French small bites and Ethiopian main dishes.
Addis Paris. Paris Addis. However you spin it, Paris + Addis = Paraddis!!! (Ahem. Paradise). This place is the hidden jewel of Mt P street. A jewel that is more comfortable than fancy yet still shines bright like a diamond. Rihanna would def love this place and so def do I.

I normally don't give a five star review, but I had a lot of fun here. It is on the second floor and there is no sign. We arrived at 4:30 pm on a Friday and people were already waiting. By opening time at 5pm, there were enough people to fill the pla
