Amazing charming Bed and Breakfast. We have stayed here multiple times. We returned August 2024 to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. Gorgeous location great food and charming location in the heart of White Mountains in NH. We loved the included breakfast and also had dinner here one night.
We have come to Adair, with friends and on our own, for most of the past 11 years, and from the very first visit we have felt wonderfully "away" in a beautiful place while also right at home. To us, the Adair feels like a home because the staff are so clearly a kind of family together and, I suppose, because it WAS a home to its original owner, Dorothy Guider, for so many decades and has remained true to that history. The food is great. We love eating on the patio in the summer or cozying into the bar. My personal favorite feature of Adair is the books, which include so many original to the home -- some first editions and some inscribed to Dorothy Guider!. (Look for her 1922 college yearbook.) I always discover new finds among the books and pick out one to read during my stay.
Our stay after a graduation was exceptional. My wife and I and my sister-in-law stayed in the Lafayette room which was plenty large enough for the three of us. We opted to have dinner on the patio with its view of the mountains. We took our time, sharing three appetizers, and then a meal. The chef went above and beyond to fulfill a special request. The server was extremely accommodating and friendly, allowing us to thoroughly enjoy our time on the patio (three hours). Breakfast the next morning was delicious, and we each chose our favorite meal.| It was a great experience, and we will definitely be returning when we visit relatives in the area.
My husband and I, along with our friends, had found this amazing bed and breakfast after spending several years in Lincoln, NH. We took a chance and to our surprise, it turned out to be a wonderful stay. We were greeted by Ben and given a tour and history of the inn. Brenda and Stacey (owner and manager) were always available if we needed something. The grounds are beautiful and what a wonderful view of the mountains. The back patio is lovely with tables, chairs and umbrellas to relax and take in the views. Breakfast was amazing, not your average continental breakfast. Chef Steve is amazing. Personal service by Hayley, Kelly, Martha and Adam made our trip memorable. We will be back soon. Thanks for everything. Peter and Kathy Lombardozzi
Well maintained with a gorgeous view of the mountains and beautifully cared for gardens. Rooms are beautiful and well appointed. We stayed in the Waterford room. It was very nice. Great bedding! A bonus to have a small restaurant in the home and fun library bar. Breakfast was very good. Excellent location with lots of things to do in the area. Highly recommend!
A Truly wonderful experience. We felt like family. The setting, the accommodations, the dining were all exceptional!! My wife enjoyed morning walks around the immaculate property. We have stayed at New Hampshire inns many times. This is now our place to be
New owner Brenda welcomed us pre-stay, during the stay & at check out to make sure any special needs were met, and that our first stay at Adair would be as perfect as possible. Savannah made our late arrival seamless & served us breakfast daily as if we were long-term friends. Even a storm-related power outage during dinner was met with total care for guests' needs by all owners and staff. Franconia Suite with lovely view off deck was special. Finally, only an easy 15 minute drive to Franconia Notch & 30 minutes to Crawford Notch for fantastic hiking & outdoor activities. My wife and I will definitely stay at Adair again next time in that area of New Hampshire!
Friendly staff, plenty of places to lounge, lots of history, delicious breakfast, good value for money. The bed was comfortable. Everything is clean. In nice weather, a lot of greenery to enjoy. The breakfast was delicious. Fun place to come in any season.
