Acropolis Opa - Greek restaurant in Williamsville - 5429 Main St, USA

This is a modern Greek restaurant with a mixture of popular traditional dishes - Like Gyro's, Souvlaki, and Spanikopita. The parking is tight and gets full quick, so you may need to find parking out on Main street. The restaurant reminds me of a greek "Family Diner" style with their menu options, but the restaurant is updated with a modern ambience. Try not to be seated towards the rear of the restaurant, as the main entrance door is also there. So it's a bit drafty from the cold outside air hitting your legs. This is winter of coarse, so I can't say you would experience the same during the spring and summer months - Which they do have outdoor seating. The food however was fresh and not over cooked like some greek restaurants. I would pick this place over a traditional greek family diner, drafty or not.

Acropolis offers a delightful dining experience. The chicken souvlaki was delicious, perfectly complemented by a cozy fireplace setting. The unique presentation of rice pudding in a martini cup was a treat, and the endless coffee was a bonus. Excellent service!

We were the first ones in at 8 am but the table was dirty. It was freezing cold and we chose the table nearest the gas log fireplace hoping to get warm, but there was a vent blowing cold air on our necks. Ate with our coats on for most of the meal. I had the Florentine eggs Benedict which was very good. Two of us had pancakes, but they were overdone. Home fries were nice. Coffee was good. Server was friendly and attentive.

We waited a long time to get seated. Our waitress took a very long time before taking our order and our order took a long time to get to our table. Did I mention we were the only customers of color there! My first time there and my last. So extremely disappointed and embarrassed. Family visiting from New Mexico had to experience this. Acropolis needs to do better.

I started going to Newbury in 2016 when they were in Expo Market. I've been a dedicated customer since then. Last night, I purchased 3 salads to take home. As the worker was preparing the salads he had put the dressing into a small plastic/ramekin sized container. He set it inside the salad bowl, on top of the lettuce and then was attempting to fit the lid on the bowl. I thought he was successful in snapping it on. I figured out when I got home that it must've not been snapped on correctly. I had salad all over the car floor. The other two salads were fine. I called them today to see if they'd be able to remake the salad but they offered a discount on my next salad instead. I declined the offer. I really don't feel this was my fault.

We came in for brunch on a Saturday. We came in through the front doors and one waitress greeted us and let us know it would be a 10 minute wait. 15 minutes go by and the another waitress greeted me while I was waiting and she was bussing a table. She did not come back and have us sit. Then another waitress came to the group of groups waiting to sit at the front door and we told her we were first. She then told my significant other to calm down. We were seated at the bar and served. While ordering a beer our waitress didn't know what craft brews were in cans in the fridge. Ended up getting an IPA. While ordering food, I got the dip trio and was told they ran out of the spicy feta dip and I would need to get something else. Asked to substitute a dolma or a falafel instead of choosing one of the other dips (neither that I wanted). Ended up ordering something different and then 5 minutes later was told they did have the spicy feta and I could get that in my dip trio. Food came out and was tasty. While we were dining at the bar, we were seated at the far end of it, which turned out to be the congregating area for all the wait staff so it was not very quiet or private. We heard one of the wait staff call one of the patrons who left while waiting a "b***h." They seem to have 2 entrances for customers to come in, and just a notepad to write out who is waiting and how many. We watched an older couple wait for a solid 30 minutes before getting seated, and I heard them say their name was already crossed off the list, so the wait staff forgot about them. They need a hostess to fix the waiting problem and they need to have 1 entrance for customers, as that seemed to add a lot to their confusion. Wait staff should know what they have in their fridge and what is available in the kitchen. Our waitress Ended up forgetting to add my beer to the bill. If I were to go again, I would hope they are better organized with seating.

Food quality and portions are perfect. Can't be dissatisfied with any of that. It could use a little better parking overall very comfortable place

I had the Thai Wrap and OMG it was incredible! Really nice people with great service. I can't wait to come back with some friends!
