That was the first time I tried alligator meat. It was way better than it sounds...it tastes more like chicken. And the grilled oysters were the best I have ever had in the US. I don't like raw ones (I didn't order here) and these creamy ones are really my favorite! The service was superb. The staff gave helpful recommendations and were really friendly. But be prepared for a wait, especially during the high season. We will definitely revisit this place!
We love eating oysters here whenever we're in New Orleans. During the recent visit we ate lunch here twice. On new year's day with the Sugar Bowl crowd in town we had to wait an hour to get in. We had a grilled dozen and a raw dozen oysters plus gumbo, jambalaya, and rice and beans. The next day we came before opening hour (11 am) and got in right away . We skipped the grilled oysters because they're too rich and just had two dozen raw oysters plus some sides. The jalapeño margarita was a nice accompaniment for the oysters. If you don't want to wait, try getting in line before 11:00.
Amazing haft shell fresh and grill oyster with crab. Very good cocktail sauce. I don't like the oyster shooter here. It's not tasty and has too much alcohol. I actually like Felix's Restaurant across the street more. Love the fried crocodile. Taste like chicken but much better texture. Fast friendly services. Could be a long waiting time for the busy season.
Our server was helpful and made sure to check ingredients we had questions about. The fried oysters and coleslaw were delicious. We really liked the bread pudding too.
TLDR: Yes, it is worth the wait. Char-broiled oysters, 100%. Instead of waiting for a table, if you're down for the bar - you'll get seated much faster. ACME is somewhat of a must try destination in NOLA. We waited a bit even coming for dinner on the earlier side but well worth it. As I mentioned, we were open to bar seating which helped get us inside quicker. We got some drinks and both the raw oysters and char-broiled oysters. The oysters were excellent, nicely briny but very clean tasting. The char-broiled oysters though were THE thing to get. Lot of garlicky, cheese flavor. They come with some bread to help soak up all of that sauce. The oyster has a nice chew to it and is lusciously savory in each bite. I'd be curious to try the over things on the menu but if you want a snack, drinks/oysters is the way to go.
The oysters blew me away!! They are huge, smooth and succulent. Goes down so smoothly. They are so plump! Must visit for Oyster lovers. The interior is very cool, good vibes. The bartender was so sweet.
All I can say …. Is WOW! I loved every bit of food I tried at this restaurant. I beat the line by getting there at opening, and I can see why they get busy. First time trying alligator and there was not one piece next. The po boys were a perfect portion, and the cheesecake was worth feeling stuffed after a beyond satisfying meal!
My sister recomended this resturant. The atmosphere was fun. It was my first time having alligator and I will be having more if it tastes like what they have here. We also had some of the local beer which was a great way to start off the night. Be aware that at 3pm there was a line but it moved fast.

I haven't been here in over 10 years, but it was still just as good or better. The swamp fries were amazing. I meant to take a picture, but we ate them way too fast. I got the special, which was the fried catfish with seafood sauce and mac-n-cheese.
What a great place to have great food while in the Bourbon Street/French Quarter area! I had the Louisiana Crawfish bread as a starter and the Taste of New Orleans for my main. Both delicious! The prices are a little cheaper than what you would get f

Went to several Poboy spots during our stay, but this one was by far the best when it came to flavor! The ones with gumbo or gravy were hearty and full of spices. I personally got one with alligator and it was good! A bit dry and could have a little
