I wanted to share my experience with Accurate Appraisals. I live in Oconomowoc and had an appraisal done. Following the initial assessment, I set up an appointment to discuss my assessment as it was too high related to the comps. I went through the initial meeting and we discussed my comps (within a 1m radius and on actual sales in the past 4 months) vs. their comps. She agreed that my data was valid and asked that i email the information that I pulled from the MLS since I am a licensed broker. After 2 weeks of not hearing back, I called however, they don't answer the phone and you get the same "High call volume" message but I did leave a message and proceeded to leave 4 more. On my 5th attempt, I was able to reach someone and they indicated they would get the message to my assessor and they would call back but it never happened. In parallel, I also followed up with roughly 6 emails. Unfortunately I thought they were going to make the adjustments we spoke about but it never happened (I found out later when my tax bill showed up). While I understand companies and people get busy, ignoring calls, emails and not following up on commitments is a horrible practice. I was very polite and not rude in any way whatsoever so at the end of the day, this was just really bad business practices. Two thumbs down for customer service !!

We purchased a house in Lake Geneva in 2021. The company that built our house owns a neighboring property (currently rented) on the north side of our property. The pictures attached can easily show both places are the same, but the one they own is on a hill. Accurate appraisal increased our property tax by 88% in 2022. When I called the company and asked for an explanation, they didn't respond. The assessor who did the job was unethical and unprofessional as he didn't talk to me at all! I filed an objection with the Board of Review. The assessor showed up, and he read an email with offensive words against me! He didn't apologize as the assumption for assessors is that "he is right"! When I asked why he assessed the same property for $208,800 and our property for $244,400, he referred to the arm's length, which wasn't available! However, the Wisconsin property owners guide discusses that the assessor should use other information if arm's length is unavailable. Two of the same properties are assessed with different values, and the Board of Review assumed the assessor was right! (Look at the publicly available attachments, and see how blind the company is). The assessor quickly could think that even if the similar neighboring property is out of the market, its value should be the same as ours (it is higher indeed!). Since I felt the company discriminated against immigrants, I asked for the Excel file of the property assessment in the area to do some research. The assessor asked the Board of Review if they wanted him to do that, but the Board of Review stayed silent! Another funny but well enough for investigation is that the similar neighbor property picture is inaccurate (see the photos)! I don't know what exactly they are hiding and for what!? The company uploaded the picture a few days before the Board of Review meeting. The company also hides some properties from the public, and when I asked the attorney general office to deal with the issue, they said they couldn't do anything about that! The company monopolizes assessing properties in Wisconsin, so they have the power to mistreat immigrants and increase property tax assessments. I provided a long list of properties with high market values paying a lower tax, but none of the Board of Review members listened to me as they assumed " the assessor is right!" The authorities must end this company's monopolistic status in Wisconsin, and the law must stop assuming that the assessors are correct! There must be an investigation to figure out why immigrants pay a higher property tax (my neighbor on the south side is an immigrant, and even in the crazy housing market of 2021-2022, he couldn't sell his house, and I guess his unreasonable property tax could be the reason) and why the company hides some properties tax assessment from the public (for example, the property tax assessment of the house that the owner of the similar neighboring property lives in is unavailable on the website! Who knows about the connection!?). September 2023 An update for the review: This year, the whole community received reassessment. However, the assessments are inaccurate as many properties have been assessed much less than their value! Whoever has a connection will receive a hug reduction! It was mindblowing to see million-dollar houses on the lakefront assessed just below $500,000. People who complained on social media using the community pages have been removed to keep the community silent for improper property assessments, which will cause higher taxes for those without connections. The assessment company scheduled many meetings for those who needed revision, but nobody has the power to turn down the low assessments for some expensive properties in the area! October 31 Update: Response to the Company: If my statement is false regarding the assessments, prove me wrong and provide a list of lakefront properties with the assessments and market values in your response! There is no need to threaten people who have tried to communicate politely and received offensive responses!

Recently had my home appraised for tax purposes through the state and the raised my property value by 30%. They did this from an office over a hundred miles away...ironic company name. I live in a neighborhood near a lake so the home values range from $100,000 to 2 million. The house behind me is getting cleaned by dudes in full hazmat suits. We called and they drop the value of my house 15% in 5 minute phone call. How is fair market value negotiable? It's like they hope to catch you off guard so they can make more money off your appraisal. I will not be able to sell my house for what they appraised for and I don't know if I will be able to afford the raised tax amount.There may be some back alley deals involved with this company. Horrible company with no Wisconsin values.

I requested Accurate Appraisal to please reassess our property value after a jump of almost 48% since the last appraisal. Jill Luebke, an appraiser at the company, worked on my case. With my own research and analysis in hand, she demonstrated a clear understanding of my concerns and the math that went into her own re-assessment. She was thoughtful and polite but even more importantly, a highly capable and methodical worker who walked me through each data input and factor weighting. I still wish it were lower (as this appraisal is an input into our eventual tax assessment), but the framework she employed was reasonable and equitable. In conjunction with her knowledge and professionalism, Jill couldn't have been a better person to work with on this dispute. She’s a real gem!

Accurate Appraisal did my assessment this year as part of a town review. When I received the information I found that the buildings being assessed weren't on the property, one building was missing and the information was just all around incorrect. After several phone calls and emails I was able to get the situation resolved but I truly don't feel that they ever came to look at the property or they would have known that the buildings weren't here anymore and haven't been for 10 + years.
