AC Hotel by Marriott Boston Downtown - Featured Reviews (879)
I stayed at the AC Hotel recently on a family trip, and it was not a great experience. While the hotel is new and very clean, there were quite a few issues. When we pulled up, the valet didn't even leave his seat. We had to go to him. Aside from the general manager, who was very friendly, the front desk staff were not very welcoming. ||The room was nice and spotless. The beds were comfortable, and there was bottled water in the refrigerator. There were plenty of outlets for charging. The air conditioner, although set to 66 degrees, never cooled the room. ||Our room faced the highway and ot was truly the noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. There was a white noise machine in the room, but it didn't help. There was traffic noise all night long! ||There are many hotel options in Boston. I would definitely not recommend this location.
The room was good but there was a humidity smell in it. The cleaners come very late in the afternoon even if I asked them to come in the morning so I had my room not cleaned for a 3 days. The front desk is not polite. It looks like they don't like their job. I forgot my charger there and they didn't care about double check or talk with the cleaners. I do not recommend this hotel. There are better options in the area.
This is a great hotel. It is a bit outside of areas of interest. About 20/30 minute walk. The staff was great. They were very friendly and followed up after check-in to make sure everything was to my liking. The rooms are nice. No view though, and I think one side of the building is in front of a highway, so that may be a problem if your room faces that way. Overall, quality/price ratio was great. I will definitely check this hotel for my future visits to Boston.
The location is great if you plan to drive around the city, but want to be somewhere quiet. The 2 stars overall is for the taxes paid on Boston hotels. I paid $362 for one night and $234 for the next. Valet parking was $62 a night. After several ridiculous tax charges I spent $828 for two nights for the most simple and basic hotel service I could have experienced at a motel. We drove 8hrs and got in late and were barely greeted by the concierge. No friendly smile or tone. Just a request for my id and card for incidentals and told that if we want breakfast it'll be $21 per person. Work on your people skills, Boston 🙄 The room was basic. Not bad, but I had a clear view of the highway next to me so I couldn't open the curtains or anyone at a stoplight could see clearly into my room. The floors had severe scratches on them by the window from what I'm going to assume/hope was someone's dog. The towels are basically steel wool and had stains on some of them. Hair in the shower from someone's previous stay. The toilet paper was...barely paper. Stiff, ultra thin, and not made for women (consider bringing your own). The "valet" part of it? They just drove my car 10ft from the door and left it there overnight. No underground parking. Nothing covered in case of rain. Just a regular parking lot. I would rather them charge me to park my own car because even though the drivers were nice, one of the valet drivers left my car reeking of body odor so my 12hr drive home was quite pungent. For $62 I expect better service. I live in DC so I'm not unfamiliar with nice hotels/expensive living. Boston as a city is just not worth the price for what you get- you just leave feeling robbed/scammed-and this hotel is no exception.
Due to a canceled flight, because of overbooking, Delta Airlines set me up at this hotel on them. My experience was so good that the next night, my flight was canceled due to weather and I had to pay for it, I stayed at this hotel again. The staff at the front desk, the bartenders, the location in a very nice neighborhood, walking distance to great restaurants and distance to the airport in a Lyft (15 minutes) were all great. The room was very clean and AC worked great. I would stay there again!
Several hidden charges, parking nearly $200 for 2 days. Room rates jacked up carpet worn out throughout the hotel. Never had someone service the room. Be careful which direction you walk at night. During the day it is just under 2 mile walk to Becon Hill. I would have rated this hotel slightly higher if they told me there was another garage to park in, but they didn't. I called hotel after seeing charges and they did not want to work with me. Says a lot about them.
Clean, spacious room, friendly staff. Walkable distance to subway, a couple of decent cafes nearby. Downtown is walkable too, but it's 30:40 mins, so... There is a parking a stone throw away, under the highway, much cheaper than the valet parking of the hotel if you don't need to take your car in and out all the time.
We had a wonderful weekend stay! The accommodations were perfect: large room, ample space around the lobby to gather and talk, free fresh coffee in the lobby, bar opens at 5pm, Whole Foods right next door, the breakfast looked delicious (although we had breakfast plans both mornings so we did not eat there), easy walk to South End and Southie. We had an enjoyable walk from the North End. Great area.|The staff was great…always asking and checking to see how we were enjoying our stay.
Lovely hotel right in the center of downtown Boston! I stayed in a suite on the second floor, there was only one other room near me. Hotel room was a great size, bedroom itself was huge! Staff was extremely friendly! They have an observation deck on
