Aboyer - French restaurant in Winnetka - 64 Green Bay Rd, USA

We celebrated a special occasion here. Inside it’s not super fancy but it is a very nice place to dine. No need to dress up here. Depending on what the dish is, the portion can be small. I ordered the Aboyer burger for my main entree and there was a lot of food. The burger was exceptional, juicy, and well seasoned. The appetizers and desserts are also worth getting. Presentations look immaculate and the taste makes you crave for more. Price wise, it’s along the lines of $$$. Yelp puts it as $$ but it’s definitely not that. It’s always good to make a reservation. Service was great. Overall 4.5.

We went there today for my mom’s birthday and it was delicious! The food was so yummy and the service was even better! Will definitely be coming again. Thank you to Alfredo for all the wonderful recommendations and amazing service!

Very nice place. In the same building is George Trois and prix fixe upper level dining experience. We had our dinner at ABoyer. We started with the escargot. It was delicious and the puff pastry on top was great for soaking up the juices. We also enjoyed 2 of their yummy cheese puffs. Then we moved on to the Roquefort Salad. The dressing was fabtastic, creamy and not overpowering. My main dish was Roti Duck. It was tough and difficult to eat and lacked taste. However the pomegranate sauce served on the dish was very tasty and helped save the dish. I would not order the duck again though. My wife ordered the lamb shank, it was very hearty and had deep flavors and was served on a bed of couscous. Overall, it was a good meal but not amazing.

Best burger period! Amazing drinks, don’t mind driving 35 mins to eat at Aboyer

The Aboyer team put so much heart and passion into their food. A family-owned business, we were blown away by the tasting menu they crafted for a dinner we attended. The chef is humble, down-to-earth, and very talented in how he crafts his dishes! The lobster tostadas he created were epic, along with the tempura dipped lobster claws. Exceptional!

Been here for over 2 hours , still no dessert, food was good but not worth waiting this long, I think restaurant week has overwhelmed this restaurant and I think they need to be better prepared if they are going to accomodate Edit to owner response: I am not sure where the 813 PM timestamp for paying our bill came from as I would never have written a critical review if that was the case. The original review was written before I had actually received our dessert while we were in the restaurant at around 845 PM (hence > 2 hours since ~630 PM arrival). We actually left the restaurant closer to 915 PM (maybe the error on the time of the bill was an hour off?). Regardless, I am all about a casual relaxing dinner experience. I, however, did not have the expectation that a casual dinner on a Wednesday night was going to be an almost 3 hour investment. If this is the assumption when coming to your restaurant when it is busy, then I guess my expectations were not in line with this. In my opinion, the dessert wait was just the endgame of a very slow service overall (despite ordering your entire meal up front when selecting from the restaurant week menu) precipitated by the large influx of diners in the setting of restaurant week. Again, thought the food was quite good overall, just would have liked service to move somewhat faster than what we experienced (but maybe still slower than the cattle herding pace that you referenced).

This was our first time visiting the restaurant. First of all we will be back to try other dishes. We can’t say were blown away, however, it was very good. 1. Cheese board was enjoyable 2. Mussels sounded tastier on the menu and a little underwhelming when they came out not only a little cold but also pretty bland 3. Burger appeared plentiful even without bun. No sauces came with it. We were surprised for French restaurant not to offer any sauces for burger with so many ingredients. Overall quite lovely atmosphere on the patio. Service provided was extremely good. Deserts are fine but nothing to rave about. We enjoyed the chocolate mousse. The hazelnut tarte was too sweet. We also enjoyed the Pea soup.

Had a great evening with 25 plus friends of our at my sons engagement party. Service was fantastic. Michael went out of his way to surprise us with some wonderful appetizers in addition to what we had ordered. They went out of their way to accommodate our group on relatively short notice in their private room. We wanted to thank everyone there for a wonderful evening.
