A very fascinating and unique experience. To some, this place may seem weird, but there’s art in the detail of every square inch of this place. I was impressed by the way ordinary, and some unordinary, items were engineered for motions and sounds. I most definitely recommend anyone in the area to visit this “Mystery House” at least once. Be ready to laugh, raise your eyebrows, and in general be very confused. And my advice for anyone who does visit, is to slow down and really take in all the intricacies. It’s easy to miss something if you’re not paying attention.

Took my wife and mother there on a Saturday afternoon before the LSU game. It was a wacky, unexpected, really nostalgic experience. John the owner was extremely nice and had a nice, long conversation about the house and it’s history and their plans, etc. We had a great time and really took our time throughout the trip, and with that we were only there an hour. You pay when you leave. The gift shop is really fairly priced. They aren’t trying to get rich here, just preserve the history and culture. Everyone should go, there’s something for everyone! Will be back!

Did not disappoint! We stopped by here as a detour on the way home from New Orleans and it was a welcome break. Totally worth the $5, which you pay at the end. We probably spent about 45 minutes there, but you could spend more time there if you play all the games. At the entry, you are given a few quarters and they have an original pac man game along with several operational old pin ball machines.

Super fun and a must visit museum! I had such a great time exploring everything and the owner was so nice! Worth the drive from New Orleans. Admission was only $5. Honestly could have spent hours there just playing in the token part.

The Abita Mystery House is definitely worth seeing. It’s a large folk art installation hidden in the small town of Abita Springs. The museum is filled with quirky animatronics, pinball machines, and arcade games. The gift shop has fun pins, hats, t-shirts and more!

This place is a national treasure, and so is its proprietor John Preble. This was the first time we've visited since 2013, and it was wonderful to see that there are more exhibits now, and the place continues to evolve. Definitely worth a long detour if you're not in the area. It's free to get into, but you have to pay to get out. Well worth it. There's a cat roaming around who welcomes guests and accompanies people through the exhibits; we found out it's a neighbor cat who just shows up every day when they open, and goes home when they close. This place is everything I love about Americana, old-timey roadside attractions, and outsider art.

This was a fun experience! It seemed more like an art installation of one person's musings and creativity than a museum though. It was charming and quirky, definitely recommend!

The Abita Mystery House is one of my favorite traditions. I love visiting my grandmother and bring my family and friends here. This experience is a fun collection of creativity, mixed with an incredible imagination, and dedication to art. I love all the tiny details, interactive activities, and the fact that these items have a place in this world. This location is great for entertaining not only the kids, but awaking your inner nostalgic child. Also, the gift shop has so many unique items that will make a unique gift or souvenir. Add the UCM to your Louisiana bucket list!!!

My husband and I stayed the last 2 nights. Love the house. And the room and bathroom were clean and smelled good. The bed was super comfy. And I LOVE the No pet policy. I have bad allergies and that's hard to find these days.

Can't go wrong eating here! We ordered the Nashville hot cheese curds for an appetizer, shrimp fettuccine, and get this the peanut butter and jelly bacon burger! Interestingly enough the pb&j and bacon burger mash-up paired well together. This place

Cool little place that matches small town Abita Springs on the outside and rustic on the inside. Serving almost all of Abita Brewery's brews, wine and cocktails as well. We started off with some Coopers Fries, sub's queso cheese for the shredded ched
