Great stop for lunch, we had the bbq pork sandwich and the tamales with chili and cheese and lettuce and tomato. The tamales were tasty and a bit spicy which suited my taste. Friendly service and an old fashioned atmosphere that can only come from being in business decades. It’s a don’t miss if you are traveling through the area.
Loved this place! I wanted to try the tamales just because I was skeptical. My husband was extremely skeptical and together we licked the plate clean. The chopped BBQ pork sandwich with slaw and Abe’s sauce did not disappoint either. Love the old school atmosphere and southern hospitality. Highly recommend.
We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon, and was greeted by some of the most wonderful people. Very welcoming, we felt an amazing hospitality. The BBQ was hot, fresh, really good, fall off the bone good! Definitely worth a stop. If in the area again we will be back!
Probably the most authentic BBQ restaurant I have ever been to - it is a must on the way down to Louisiana. My favorite is the rack of pork ribs - nicely smoked with the Abe's BBQ Sauce. Service is excellent- small atmosphere minus for the plastic plates and knives.
a great place to stop and eat for lunch. our waitress, Lucille was so nice and came out with our food very quickly. my pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw was so good! I love their ~tangy~ bbq sauce! so unique and delicious! the atmosphere is awesome as well! there’s a lot of good history to look at:) and they have the “good” ice! on my next visit to Clarksdale I will definitely come back by for a visit!
When they say every thing on the menu is good, I normally take caution. They were not lying! The beef sandwich was impressive. The onion rings were to perfection. The staff was amazing for being the only waitress in the place she made it look easy. When at the cross roads this should be your stop.
I was actually looking for a spot run by a famous guy named Larry but couldn’t find his latest reincarnation and stopped in at Abe’s instead. Wasn’t disappointed in the least. With with perhaps polar opposites in the food spectrum and delighted by both. Tamales were flavorful and the pork sandwich had just the right amount of smoke and sauce. Plus the service was friendly and I was quite satisfied.
Fantastic. Absolutely wonderful barbecue right at the crossroads. The staff was charming in a sense that they could do this in their sleep and could likely just order for you. The tamales with chili and cheese were great! The slaw was fantastic, but the undisputed star of the show was the Big Abe Bar-B-Q pork sandwich. Sonny Jim on a rooftop that was a great sandwich. Go in, be polite, enjoy great food and great people in a classic restaurant environment.

On a cold Wednesday night in January we came here after we saw a flyer a blue cotton bake shop we needed to check bad apples blues club out. And we are so happy that we did! It was a very special hart touching night with a lot of live music and histo
Go see the new sales associate Caressa for assistance. She was absolutely amazing. She made my experience of furniture shopping a whole lot easier. She was also very polite. She helped me to pick out the best furniture. I am very grateful.
Great night listening to "Reverent" Roberts. Met Stan Street as a wonderful host, working hard, like most of Clarkesdale, to keep the sound and those vibes alive. Thanks Stan!
