I recently visited Abernathy Greenway Garden for the first time, and I was blown away by its beauty. The garden is located in the heart of the city, but it feels like a world away. The grounds are well-maintained, and the plants are lush and green. There are walking paths, Playing area for kids and more.....
The park has great features and is spread out so not so crowded. My 9yr old loved it and we stayed a few hours. They have swings and a slide area made of concrete. The slide is wheelchair accessible too.
Great park and wonderful use of space. Very contemporary. Bathrooms cld use some cleaning and some kind of deodorizer, but all in all a very cute and convenient park.
Great way to wear out young, energetic kids. Unique playsets. Protected from traffic by an iron fence. Available restrooms, water fountains & even a water bottle filler!
Sometimes I just want to swing... And when that happens. This is my go-to location. It's always clean. The swings have a rubber mat (I believe it's repurposed tire rubber but don't quote me on that) not a lot of parking unfortunately. Also a great place to walk. It on a busy street so I stay on one side lol. If you love to read like I do then find a bench or some grass and read in peace 🕊️
I believe Abernathy Greenway Park is defined as a Linear Park and I was able to walk both sides of the park. It's amazing how only being a few feet off a major Atlanta area highway can feel so removed from the hustle, especially on the south side of the park which is pretty much surrounded by hills and trees. Well done Sandy Springs!
Great small park with fun and unique structures and grass areas
Cute park featuring swings, climbing frames and nets, and some fun little decorative pieces that can be climbed on and around.
Park is only about a quarter mile and doesn’t feature much shade from the sun. Also would be recommended for slightly older children, about 5 or older, as some of the frames will be hard for the younger ones.

Great small little park. It is right next to the creek and have multiple swings at the location.
Parking is little crampy as it only accommodates 4-5 cars at a time.
