Abbeywood Cat Hospital - Veterinarian in Westmont - 6323 Fairview Ave, USA

Had our first visit here for an exam & vaccinations...and it was a great experience. The staff took their time and answered all my questions, as well as follow-up questions the day after. They provided good info on first steps for any treatments and worked from there. The facility is clean and our cat who is normally very anxious with a new environment did very well. Would definitely recommend.

Our 19 year old tabby was on his final days, they were able to accommodate our request. They were exceptionally kind and thoughtful at such a painful time. Bravo to all the staff, they get it!

I agree with Nick Moore's review about the tone of the person who answered the phone. On Saturday morning, at about 8:15am, on 09/30,, my cat was having an emergency and I was calling around to vets bc the ER vets are so expensive. I understand they are busy but just saying how busy they are and then having a grumpy tone and then hanging up without saying goodbye!....or saying I'm sorry and I wish you the best of luck with your cat is just heartless and plain careless. Obviously, I am sad about my cat and the rudeness made me more upset about the situation. I wanted to give 1 star. I only did not give 1 star bc i didn't want to ruin the good reviews that are already up on Google. Have some compassion. You can take 30 seconds to be kind. I do not want to call here again that's for sure.

My kitten has only known Abbeywood. It all started the 2nd day I got her and I noticed she wasn’t eating. I never owned a cat and was not sure what to do. Frantically I called around to multiple vet offices just wanting some advice. It was a Saturday so that was pretty hard everyone I called just said to bring her to an emergency room. Finally I called Abbeywood, Zoey eased my mind and gave me tips on how to get my baby SVN to eat. She told me their hours and said if I wanted to bring her in I could even though there was no veterinarian in; she said she’d teach me and/or let me know if she was in eminent danger and needed to be admitted into the er. I hung up that phone and took her advice and before I knew it she was lapping at her kitten formula bowl. At once I knew they’d be who I chose to care for my baby because they actually cared. I set up her first appointment shortly after and her little sassy self has been a patient here since. I highly recommend this cat hospital. SVN has gotten all her shots and even spayed by them. I was able to get a rough estimate of how old she is and she’s so happy and healthy. And I know I can call them whenever something seems off about her without feeling like I’m bothering them. I honestly feel like the staff love their jobs and it shows! If you’ve made it this far reading this review do your baby a favor and book an appointment. As a first time cat owner I couldn’t be happier with the service here.

So far the experience has been great! They are so personable and so patient. I've had a very sick cat and after her appointment I talked to them everyday and they never got irritated or frustrated with my many questions. I think we're on the mend with my kitty! So far I love this place.

Dear Seth, I have brought my cats here for years. They are kind and very competent, including both the former veterinarian and the new one. Being gruff is not a major offense. Animals are not people and do not understand. I appreciated a minimal approach for a senior cat, & they explained things well. Seth, please do not to dump on those that came before. I reflects poorly on the present management. They built this practice, and cared for animals too.

It seems that a lot of first timers have come by with their cats very recently, but I was told that they're not accepting new patients at this time. Also, the tone of the secretary was not friendly and even though I wanted to ask when new patients will be accepted (I have a cat that is not doing very well), I was put off by her tone. This place came highly recommended to me, but unfortunately, I'll have to find elsewhere to see about my cat. It does sound like a really great place, based on the website and the reviews, which is why I'm giving them 3 stars.

Sweetest, most caring doctor and nurses!! We just recently got out first cat and were so unfamiliar with the vets, vaccines, and everything about cats. The ladies at the front desk explained everything (some things twice until I got it) to me and provided me with helpful brochures and readings for my kitten. They are very gentle and care about your pet, and give you great advice!
