We had a great time at A Taste of Alaska Lodge. We had rooms in the main lodge and couldn't stop looking at all the memorabilia that was everywhere! All super interesting. The rooms were super clean and the breakfasts were delicious. We enjoyed talking with everyone--tons of local knowledge. If we're ever back in Fairbanks, we'll book again! (The northern lights may be calling our name. :) )
Where do I start? We took our grandchildren to Alaska for their spring break and after much research were able to find the A Taste of Alaska Lodge.|From the moment we arrived Cory welcomed us and made our grandchildren (aged 13 and 11) feel right at home. We stayed in the Cedar Cabin and it was great!|Cory and Debbie are absolutely wonderful hosts. |Breakfasts every morning were a perfect way to start our day (thanks to Cheyenne!) I can go on and on, but suffice it to say you CANNOT go wrong staying here. We are already looking forward to planning our next trip back!
We absolutely loved our stay at TOA!! Cory and Debbie are amazing hosts. We stayed in the Spruce hose it was perfect for my husband and I. It could accommodate several more guests. The spiral stairs are a bit steep so that i would leave for more agile folks in your group.
the grounds are amazing and the "night watch" cabin is perfect place to go to look for the lights! i would never hesitate to recommend TOA to anyone who is looking for a place to stay outside of Fairbanks.
Thanks Cory and Debbie!! was an amazing experience
PS. the wood puzzle is the most aggravating puzzle in the entire world but well worth it in the end!!
We had an exceptional stay at the Taste of Alaska Lodge last week. We were part of a tour with Gondwana Eco Tours (highly recommended) and enjoyed a 6-night stay at the lodge. The lodge is family owned and you can tell they put their heart into the business. They also have a great sense of humor and are very knowledgeable. The viewing cabin and alarm system in the rooms for viewing the Northern Lights were perfect. We were there during an extreme cold snap in the -40s and we still enjoyed every bit of our trip.||We were fortunate enough to see the lights, but I would recommend this lodge even if seeing them is not important to you. Beautiful area for hiking, snow shoeing and just enjoying nature. I wish I could go back this summer.||The pics were taken from the viewing area directly behind the lodge.
It's a fantastic place to stay outside of fairbanks. The owner and his family are very friendly, and we're great to work with while I was TDY with the Air Force. I felt like I was back home at my grandparent's house in appalachia.
We were looking for a quiet peaceful and beautiful location for our honeymoon. This place met every expectation and more. If you are looking for an Alaskan get away and a place to see the Aurora Borealis then this is the place for you.
Can't say enough about them. From checking in to departing I was treated as family. The main lodge was very spacious and friendly. Kory, Lily, Debbie, David and let's not forget the puppies made every minute very down to earth and enjoyable.||I stayed in "Debbie's Garage Chalet" a quaint little chalet with a great view. Room was clean and spacious for 1 or 2 people. During my stay it was -28f and I had a rental car. there was a plug-in engine block heater at the chalet avail for use which came in handy a few days. ||Breakfast was plentiful and very delicious consisting of a variety of desires including eggs, oatmeal, bagels, toast, fruit, bacon, sausage, pancakes, coffee, juice and a few others. More than plenty to fill the belly.||During the night hours (9pm-3am) the lodge had an Aurora expert at the warming hut basically giving you a play by play of what is about to happen according to the space weather data, and she was pretty much right on about everything, very impressive!!!! ||Did I say it was -28F. So, the warming hut was essential to keeping hands, feet, cheeks and noses warm. Oh, also camera gear from freezing as well. ||"A Taste of Alaska" is an absolute gem!!!!!!! Highly recommended!!!!!! Beautiful area and INCREDIBLY AWESOME hosts!!!!!!||Lance Bassett
The wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Taste of Alaska, if we ever go back to the area it will be the only place we stay. The view was excellent and the Log house was perfect
Great place to stay! Location is the best, right next to the downtown park. We went for a walk at the park and across the river. Gorgeous views. Definitely worth spending the little bit of extra $$ to stay here!
The rooms were clean and beautiful. The bed and pillows were soft and comfortable. The shower pressure was bad and the breakfast options could have been better. The Lady at the front desk was very helpful. The location was fantastic- close to walmart
So the rooms were very spacious but definitely a bit dated. They have baseboard heat that wasn't working properly so the room was pretty cold the first night. The customer Service was great, they immediately sent someone up to look at it and he could
Dropped in for a Saturday Class. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The gym was huge, clean and warm! The workout was sweaty, loved it! Highly recommend if you are visiting, super easy drop in process.
