We came up to Ashland for a wedding and we really enjoyed our stay at "A Midsummer's Dream Bed and Breakfast". The Inn is immaculate, with beautifully appointed rooms. We stayed in the Juliet room, a lavender decorated room with a huge jacuzzi tub including lavender soaps and salts. The king size bed was super comfortable and the room was quiet. We could walk into town in 10 minutes, which made the location very convenient. Lisa, the owner, cooked up fabulous breakfasts including fresh baked cookies every afternoon. The egg souffle and the peach/orange juice was really good! She had newspapers as well. The next time we come to Ashland, we will definitely stay at the Midsummer's Dream Bed and Breakfast.

Lisa was so hospitable and friendly! We stayed in the Romeo which is upstairs with it's own entrance, large, and beautiful. The entrance door is right across from the entrance into the dining room of the main house. Huge, comfortable bed with a thick, warm comforter. The bathroom has a separate shower and a large Jacuzzi tub. Small covey with a mini-fridge and microwave, with snacks and coffee supplies. It was very private, spacious, and very comfortable altogether. We did not use the fireplace, but it looked nice. Breakfast was delicious, the other guests warm and friendly. I believe Lisa had freshly ground coffee beans, making a delicious cup. One of the breakfast treats involved warm, plump grapes served with a homemade lavender whipped cream. I've never had warm grapes before, and I was blown away. Overall a very nice experience! Worth checking into during the winter when prices are a bit lower, as well as the summer to watch great plays and whatnot. We really enjoyed our time here!||I can only find my pictures of the outside, but they have pictures of the rooms on their website.

This was the perfect choice for us. We stayed in the Juliet room, which was amazingly cute and comfortable. The king bed was filled with dreamy pillows, and the room enjoys lots of soft, natural light. Lisa thought of everything, leaving bottles of water and snacks in the room. You could also find tea fixings, port and home-baked cookies downstairs in the living room. The Juliet room also had a fantasy bathroom with an enormous jacuzzi tub that seemed almost too decadent for use during these times of drought (we're from California). We were in Ashland for the Shakespeare Festival, and were extremely happy to learn that we could easily walk to and from the theaters and the main downtown area. Breakfasts were also wonderful - blue corn waffles with lavender infused cream the first morning, and an amazing chili-cheese souffle the seond day. Definitely worth a return visit!

Spent 4 nights with Lisa and would definitely return. Our "Juliet" room was immaculate and made-up daily with new linens. The full breakfasts were very hearty, generous, and varied- freshly made in her kitchen- always included an assortment of fruit, eggs, pancakes or similar, and the most delicious smoothies! Homemade cookies would be waiting in the parlor in the afternoon. All in all, a totally delightful experience. Thank you Lisa!

This tastefully decorated, well run, and comfortable B&B offers a selection of rooms named for some of Shakespeare's most famous characters. Ours, decorated in lavender and white with a welcoming fireplace and balcony overlooking the valley, was the "Juliet". The king sized bed was most comfortable.||||Breakfast is prepared between 8:30 am and 9:00 am according to your desires and is served in a pleasant dining room. ||||Mrs. B, the proprietor, is a pleasant Ashland native and excellent historian with useful suggestions as to local attractions and restaurants.||||Downtown, and the theaters are less than a mile away. Pleasant walk. ||||We look forward to returning to the festival and the Midsummer's Dream next year!

Looked at a couple of other B & Bs on Trip Advisor before I chose this one. I was amazed that I was even able to get a room since the booking calendar was very full. I asked for and received the Othello Room. OMG! The room is beautifully decorated in soft greeny grey tones with black floral wall paper. The bathroom has black granite countertops and tub surround. The tub is a jetted two person size. The room also has a gas fireplace that divides the one wall between the BR and bath.....so it can be seen from both rooms. It was so hot when we were there though we didn't use it. I have to say that the AC was terrific. Each room has it's own climate control. Lisa is the owner/hostess and whipped up wonderful breakfasts each morning we were there. I have to plug the coffee. It was very good. Lisa's son is the roaster. Lisa grew up in Ashland and offered up a selection of restaurants and things to see. Her recommendations were perfect. If we should ever find ourselves in Ashland again I will make every attempt to stay here. The B & B is located within walking distance of the downtown district and the university.

I highly recommend staying here. Inn keeper Lisa was so kind, thoughtful, and accommodating - especially of our dietary restrictions. Everything was prompt and done with so much care and effort. The main house is lovely and a very comfortable place to hang out. We stayed in a separate but attached Desdemona Suite on the back of the property. We loved the extra quiet, the exclusion of stairs to climb, the views of beautiful tees and landscape from our room, and the family of deer that seemed to live in the yard. It was certainly vacation dollars well spent and I hope the Inn is open and busy for many many years to come.

My husband and I stayed at A Midsummer's Dream while visiting Ashland this summer and found it to be delightful. The Inn is impeccably decorated and maintained and Lisa, our host, was welcoming and most gracious. I highly recommend the Inn, particularly the Othello room which was comfortable and luxurious. The breakfasts were also great. It was an all around positive experience which helped make our time in Ashland special.

This theater is incredible. There's not a bad seat in the house. It's worth every penny to see shows here. We are seeing The Three Muskateers and it's a true gem. Wine and beer, popcorn and cookies are all sold inside and can be taken to your seat.
